This is getting out of hand, woodies on the rise.

Nice pictures I love it when they visit the pond at my place usually hear them then have to wait for them to paddle out into the open and use binos to see them from the house
-
Wow! You've outdone your self this time!

Amazing pics, awesome detail!
-
WOW. :o very nice. That first one would be a perfect mount. Then again, I geuss that is your mount.
You know, you take some very, very nice pictures ond share them on this site. (Many others do as well) but two or three times a year you seem to post one that is makes me say WOW. Beautiful picture. Nicely done Doug.
Don't take this as sucking up..........you have still been slacking in the moose picture catagory. :chuckle: :chuckle:

The color and definition really brings those to life, I would probably need to see those birds take flight hundreds of times(up close at that) to appreciate the intricacy and beauty of their feather patterns. Thanks for sharing.
-
Saweet woodie Bone.
Thanks for sharing
-
Thanks guys. It has been a challenge and a half for me to get a good flying photo of one. Conditions, lighting, focus focus and focus......... It felt good to capture a couple.
-
There was a story with the second photo. I jumped them and was on them when these two banked hard right. Obviously I was living through the viewfinder. I heard a big splash to the left and turned to see commotion in the brush and water. Color wise it looked like a hen, so I thought a male landed in the water and the hen hit in the brush. They do like trees more than the average duck. Then I focused on the bird in the bush and it was a hawk. It was either a sharpshinned or coopers. He had nailed one and that was the big splash That would have been cool to have filmed. As far as I know, the duck escaped as the hawk made another pass shortly after that.. He was following me around as I jumped ducks.
-
Your third photo is beyond a photo. That is called perfection. Wow!!! 8)

Thanks guys. No I haven't been. Occasionally someone will request one and I will do it for them, but that is just about it. I am an outdoor enthusiast, not a marketer. :) I'm still gunning for a duck calender next year.

Please let me know what it would take/cost for me to get a hold of the first image in this thread, for me to frame and hang. That is a great shot!!!

I sold that one to bone for thirty dollars. How many do you want weazle? :chuckle:

I want to get some teal and pintails. I need to get down to Toppenish
-
Pintails (is that an activity, or a bird)? I would love to get a pintail stuffed, one of the glass cased coffee table types
-
NICE
-
When I lived in South Carolina, these were all over the place. I've see about 5 in 25 years since I've lived here. Not easy getting a beautiful shot of Woody in Wa. Nice job
-
Hey Bone what camera and lens do you use? Just curious.
-
Canon 40D 70-200

Same here Doug. I like the first shot and my Daughter likes the third shot. She just registerd for an account on this site. She doesn't hunt but loves all the pictures of natures beauty on here. She takes awesome photo's and I'm trying to talk her into sharing them here as well. It really shocked me to see what she photo's. All the small things that I don't see or do not think about like dew drops on ferns with reflections. They are beautiful but she isn't comfortable yet......she thinks she not worthy of posting pics yet after seeing some of the ones on here. I will talk her into it.......someday.
I am serious about the first and third pics in the thread though. If your willing please PM me with info.
Thanks, Devin

Pm sent Devin

Yeah Doug...those are some of your best shots ever... beautiful man!

I'd order some of your photos in 4x6 prints.
I like to take blank cards found at a craft store and glue on photos to the front and use them as Thank You Cards or Birthday Cards for people. I'm always writing about 10 cards per week as I'm a missionary who's always thanking people for partnering in our ministry. I've got a bunch of friends who are outdoor enthusiasts who would love to get a card like that.
In fact, my hunting partner is deployed overseas and I'd love to have some hunting cards (mule deer, white tail deer, black bear, ducks, etc) to send him notes on. He loves getting mail.
Send me a PM if interested in selling me some of your prints to make cards.

I want to get some teal and pintails. I need to get down to Toppenish
When it warms up and the creek starts to flood out there will a lot of pintailers down there.
-
Spooky little *censored*s, of course the world is shooting at them. I got some long distance stuff. I'd have to get serious to get some good shots. I saw more trumpeters than I did teal. Lots of pinnys and greenheads down there.

I just hung a 16x20 of that first photo in my office at work. I'm trying to decide if I should matte it or not. Cost-co does a weird thing with their posterboard large prints. I order a 16x20 and you get that size in board but with a half inch of white all the way around it....meaning the photo is like 15x19 and change. In the large frames I am using, it sort of adds its own border. I wish I was more artistic. Taking them to have them professionally matted costs BIG BUCKS, especially in that size. I think it would be cool to throw in a duck stamp or something like DU does with their prints, into the matte. Funny thing is I suck at color choice and everything that has to do with matting, and I am usually somewhat artistic.
For those that ordered prints, I got them.

As artistic as your daughter is with her cakes, you should turn her loose on the matting. You can go to a local art supply store or online and by a mat cutter and materials, and either make your own frames or purchase them.

Wow - those pics are incredible! Excellent color & detail and the birds look gorgeous. Very impressive!

How much does costco charge for those prints? I have some pictures that I would like to have done.

They have a whole scale depending on size and make. They are very reasonable though.
