Title: What kind of bird is this?
Post by: stillhunter on December 29, 2011, 09:36:31 PM: I had 6 of these in my back yard the other day eating apples that were still on the ground, can anyone tell me what they are.

It has been questioned why they aren't our state bird. Anyone who spends any time in the woods will recognize their call. It's a long single note whistle.
