when you find mole traps without buckets or something else covering them on County Public property around the restrooms, picnic tables, vending machines, dog pet areas. My dog who needed a potty break and just so happens to love to dig up moles was in the area.
If Fish and Feathers wants to ticket me for tripping illegal traps to keep an child or pet from possible danger bring it on.

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The state Capitol's landscaping crews have been violating the ban on mole traps for years, a state spokesman said Tuesday.
"It was just an oversight on the part of our grounds staff," said General Administration spokesperson Steve Valandra.
Valandra said the crews were, "Unaware these sort of traps were outlawed."
Voters approved the ban on so-called "body gripping" traps in 2000.
The grounds crews were using seven of the banned traps in the late winter months prior to the traditional mole mating season. On average, 24 moles are trapped and killed a year, according to Valandra.
The state removed the traps Tuesday morning after State Representative Joel Kretz, R-Okanagan County, alerted Fish and Wildlife officials.
"To me, it's a real good example of the arrogance in Olympia," said Rep. Kretz, "The citizens are not able to operate like this."
A Fish and Wildlife spokesperson said the General Administration Department received a warning about the traps. Warnings are traditionally issued to first-time offenders.
The grounds crews are looking at alternative pest control measures, said Valandra.

So what happens when your dog gets into one of your neighbors yards with mole traps?? You gonna blame your neighbor or the dog??
Maybe you should re read my post. I was on public property...AKA County transfer station. They have a neat little picnic area that they built with KC taxpayers money, complete with vending machines and tables. Doesn't everyone want to picnic at the dump? But the bathrooms do come in handy.
I forgot my rope and dog had to go. No one around and I carry bags for his business.
As far as my dog going to the neighbors.. first of all I am not a city boy. Neighbors are younder. And I'm a responsible dog owner, I always say a dog is only as smart as its owner!. My dog was sitting on the comode this am reading the wall Street Journal!
Just a little wierd how State and Counties can break game/trapping laws.
And my racing mower is called (THE MOLE DIGGER)

Such things as laws!! We had a county sherrif in town who was accused of domestic violence and not only did they not put him in jail they put him on PAID administrative leave for it. Had it been anyone else they woulda been in the county bed and breakfast lickity split

You should keep your dog at home for his own safety and out of respect for your neighbors. Personally I am sick and tired of picking up a bucket of poop every time I mow the grass.
