A co worker saw me reading a wolf thread and said one of his hunting buddies called him to say he spotted 2 wolves in the Nasty Creek area (he has a cabin there) just north of Tampico probably 2 weeks ago. He has also said he has heard of sightings of a couple more on Bethel Ridge not too far from the Oak Creek Feeding Station.
I have asked him to try and get more detailed info but wanted to know if any of you in the Yakima area have gotten wind of either of the sightings.

I've been hunting there forever and have never seen any wolves. I also know quite a few people that live up there and or have cabins up there and they have never mentioned anything about seeing wolves either. The closest wolf sightings near Yakima that I've heard of have been in the Teanaway.

:yeah:
I keep hearing that folks around Goldendale are seeing them in the simcoes. And a few people have seen them a couple miles out of town. I don't have any photos but I was wondering if any one has seen or heard anyone else sighting any this far south?
yes they've been spotted throughout the rez from the north to central an south also the west boundary
These locations above are south of ahtanum and in another thread I reported hearing a couple of wolves fairly close to where we were hunting in the Bethel area. We were cow/bull calling and a pair of different howls were closing in on us and the closest they got to us was down at the bottom of the ridge we were on.
I've heard yotes howling and these were much deeper and longer carrying so it's possible they are in there. :dunno:

My co worker just told me his hunting buddy has sighted two different wolves in two different locations one on Sedge Ridge on the South Fork Ahtanum Creek side and the other at Nasty Creek Flat. The local game officer was called to report the sighting and stated he had been notified the previous day as well in the same area (Nasty Creek Flat) of a wolf sighting.
