I'd like to know too! I have moles EVERYWHERE.

Shotgun!! Sit in your chair with a cup of coffee early in the morning and have some off season fun :chuckle: wait until you see the dirt raising up and blow the hole to sheet ....20 ga 71/2 shot works great ..

Get your hands on 5-6' of alum flex pipe slightly larger than the exhaust pipe of your lawn mower. Pick up a small roll of metal duct tape, the shiney silver stuff. Connect the flex to the exhaust pipe of the mower. Clean out the top of the mole hill to expose the tunnel. Shove the pipe in 6" to a foot and pack the mole hill dirt around the hose. Start the mower and leave it partially choked. Let her idle for good half hour or more.

get yourself a killing implement, sneak out early and watch for them mounding then go ape on them..I use a nappy hoe
-
But rasbo, doesn't that mess up the hides for your moleskins? :chuckle:
-
watch out foe the mean russian moles...actually the hoe softens them up,less chaffing
-
I knew "nappy" would show up here eventually! :chuckle:

You coasties are too conservative. A good ol' carpet bombing is in order.

I just bought my first house. Prior to closing I had maybe 2-4 mole hills........as of last weekend I had 30 :yike:
I have yet to catch one but have detered the activity. Rasbo, does that mean they are aware of my traps?
-
I catch 'em when they're active usually early morning and flush em out with the garden hose. Take the nozzle off and get lottsa volume. Or I step on the hill to push the dirt back into the tunnel and wait for them to push it back up then dig 'em out with a shovel.
Saw a sign in a guy's yard down around Ocean Park "FREE Moles you dig" you could try that.

I see a flashlight taped to the "nappy hoe" is that leagal? I smell 10 points! :chuckle: :chuckle:

Hay pitch fork works best for me. Get them when the mound is moving. Stab, scoop. Done deal.

Last year I had a few of them making hills in my yard. I busted out the claw traps but for whatever reason couldn't catch them. We took some of the big good quality road flares......lit them, stuffed them down the hole then I put a bucket over the hole. Every now and then there'd be a smoke leak...just took some dirt and covered up the leak. Let that flare burn itself out...haven't seen a mole since. You can buy the mole/gopher/pest smoke bombs at the hardware store too but the road flares seem to have a lot more horsepower.
might have to try that if my trapping skills dont pan out lol
