Anyone going?
-
Always a great time and they give away a lot of guns and hunting trips every year. I will be there, I hope we see a lot of Hunt-WA people there.
-
I will be there as this is a great fundraiser. Your opportunity to purchase a Auction Permit for Whitetail Deer, Blacktail Deer or a Mountain Goat along with hunting and fishing trips from around the world. This is the place to pick up an Africa trip for a very reasonable price. New this year if you buy one of the live auction items you will be in a drawing for $5000 cash. There are usually less than 100 items selling for $250 and up. Where else can you get a chance of 1 in 100 to win $5000 cash? Lots of raffle items too with ladies diamond bracelet worth $4000, predator hunting package worth $3000, a wall of guns raffle and many more. Got to see it to believe it. This is not your cookie cutter banquet. There should be 50-60 exhibitors too.

I might have to hang on to this thread I might be in the wet side that weekend :dunno:

For those that have been before: What night do you recommend going?
If you have to pick one, Saturday.
Thats when all the better auctions happen.
Even if you're into dropping the money on the auction stuff.
-
Saturday night only is $100. Friday night only is $60. Both nights is $125: you may as well pay an extra $25 and go both nights.
-
Probably wont buy much at auction with the new home purchase. A raffle sounds more like my kinda money right now :chuckle:
But fun to watch
-
To bad it's in Bellevue, won't go there for anything
-
It wouldn't be at the Meydenbauer but it is the only facility large enough to hold an event this size. Access is very easy off of 405, you won't have to deal with Bellevue itself.
-
There are always some great outfitters there to chat with also.
-
Sounds like something to see, might consider taking the family and staying for the weekend. Thanks for the notice.
-
I can never resist the wall of guns raffle. Who wouldn't want a new rifle?
Will the laser shot be back this year?
-
The Laser Shot game will be there and hi score will again split the pot.

If you're going to go, let me know.

Just curious...does anyone know how much the goat hunt usually goes for at the convention? I really appreciate the info. I'm looking forward to going...this will be my first year.
-
I want to say +/- $7500 the last couple years....could be wrong. Wa.hunter will know for sure if he chimes in.
-

I was wrong I think. I could find 2008 and 2009. $13,500 in '08 and $8500 in '09.
Looks like they'll sell the moose, goat, whitetail and blacktail auction tags at the convention this year. Should be fun to watch!
-
I appreciate it man! I really want that goat tag!! : )
-
It is a good time for sure so I hope to see everyone there!
Don't forget the annual Washington Wild Sheep Foundation's Members' Only raffle. The top prize this year is a Dall's Sheep hunt with Todd Walton in Alaska. Other prizes include a custom rifle, gun case, Sitka gear as well as many other great prizes!
Only 98 tickets sold so far so get your tickets sent in today!
We will draw the winners Saturday afternoon at the show!

We'll be there! We will have a booth to display are work. Gave SCI a donation as well, for equivalent of a deer shoulder mount. Stop by Cedar River Taxidermy's booth and say hello, to Rick and Cole.
Might mention too if somebody hasn't already, the show will be open to the public from 10:00am - 3:00 pm Saturday, $5 each / children free.
I'm new to the site so come by and say hello.
Thanks, Rick
-
does anyone know if raffle ticks cand be purchased without attending... Yay for work! .....and if winners need be present? Thanks :hello:

According to friday night under "wall of guns raffle" it says winners must be present.
Doesnt say it on Saturday, so not sure if its a typo or the 'rules' change for Saturday.
-
Usually the goat tag has like previously state ran from $7500-$13,500 you just never know. Always take's 2 people that want it, with the economy the way it is who knows.
As for purchasing raffle tickets we are open to the public from 10am -3pm for a $5 entry, to look things over and visit with exhibitors. If you purchase raffle tickets and put your name and phone # on them we would honor that and you would not have to be present to win.
-
Ill be attending Friday night only.
Other commitments the rest of the weekend.
-
Well I just thought I would drop a note a say you missed out.
The Auction Whitetail Tag sold for $3500 you never know when you are going to get such a deal.
-
Agree, someone got a great deal. I should of picked it up! The Billygoat got a good price.
-
I thought the whitetail tag went for auction at an earlier SCI NW auction on 2-5. What did the goat, Moose and west side deer and elk go for any body know? Just curious
-
SCI NW is this Friday and Saturday, they have the moose and westside elk tags (http://www.scinw.com/).
The Billy went for a little over $10K on Saturday night.
It was a great event!
-
Boy 250.00 to sit with jim and his wife. Now that is a pretty penny! I would love to go this year and I am really thinking about it.
-
Is that about normal for donated hunts and trips? Seems like a pretty small list compared to a lot of the sci events. I would love to be there I would for sure bid on both the elk tag and the moose tag. I know I would not be able to win them but I would for sure try :chuckle:
-
I am not doing the Shockey event, I just spent 2 days at the Puget Sound SCI Chapter event, but will be there on Saturday.
The NW show usually has 50+ live auctions and many silent auctions and the bucket raffles. I think the list on the website is just a small subset of the actual items.
Looking forward it.
-
Thanks. How about the deer tags, any idea wha tthey went for?
-

Blacktail went for $6500 and the whitetail went for $3500.
The mule deer sold for $46k by the MDF at the western hunting expo a couple weeks ago.

I have met Jim several times and he is a good guy. Got to spend some time around him as well. There is not to many of those guys that I have got to meet. He is one of the better ones that has a real life attitude to him. Not to high strung to brush a avg Joe off like a few other name brand guys.
Tell me about the exhibitor stuff. If you buy any dinner package you can setup a booth for free? what are those like? I read the info on the site and didn't get much from it. How many of those guys will be there? I would be happy to do the show one of these years and bring some hunts for people to look at
-
Thanks Jackelope. Wonder why the whitetail went that low?
-
I missed out on seeing this. I would have gone. My friend purchased the goat tag. Sounds like a good one.
-
Actually the mule deer tag sold in Reno for around $27,000, This coming weekend will be the NW SCI Banquet and this year they have the Westside elk and Moose tag. can check out info on www.scinw.com I think they may still have tickets left. You won't be getting a steal on either one of these tags though.
-

I was speaking with the Donated Trip chairman last evening, it sounded to me like they had more trips than currently listed, I suspect the list needs updated.
