I'll start 2008 F-450 CC loaded, love it.
Lets see some older ones.

Braggart
-
97 Chevy 1500. Nothing special but gets from point A point B and is pretty good on gas
-
2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Will buy the same exact truck again someday.

Braggart
What? wasn't like that at all......

What? wasn't like that at all......
yea
:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
1992 F-150
-
1995 C3500 6.5 diesel with 8.5' flatbed for hauling hay/trailers.
1993 Suburban 2500 4x4 for hauling kids/gear/dogs.
-
83 Ford Bronco with 33s on it. Stait 6 under hood. Not a power house, but has never left me stranded. Got as graduate present in 1989 and has been a loyal steed. Having engine rebuilt in February. Should be good for next 20 yrs :IBCOOL:
-
I guess if bronco counts then I can list mine.
2001 Nissan Xterra. My family says it doesn't count as a truck, but it was one of the few vehicles I could find with manual transmission and it has four wheel drive. If I need to really haul something, I can just hook up a trailer.
Modified: Just wanted to add that it is paid off.
-
99 Superduty, 235800 miles and will be trading what's left of it on the newest one when I turn over 250,000

'96 f250 7.3 w/ 5 speed 4wd. 182K.
very fond of this pu.
-
01 Tundra 4.7 4x4. Absolutely love it still. Wishing I was in a position to trade in on a new CrewMax Tundra. The car seat barely fits in the back of mine.
-
2008 silverado 1500 crewcab. After the 20th it will be paid off. Then it will be the best kind of rig there is... :IBCOOL:
-
06 dodge 2500 diesel
-
Then it will be the best kind of rig there is... :IBCOOL:
Couldnt agree more
96 chevy 1500. Just short of 200k on all orginal equipment :yike: Im going to get the most for my money and drive it until its done, hoping for one more year of no truck payment

2004 F-350 V-10 automatic
-
2004 F-350 V-10 automatic
Sweet truck! I wish my 2004 V-10 F350 was a 4 door. I bought a regular cab cause I found one with the 6 speed manual in great condition. I love my truck but the extra space would have been great now that we are a family of 4! I should have held out for the 4 door!
-
2002 Silverado 1500 for me.
2000 Silverado 1500 here. 6" lift sitting on 35's
Oh how I wish my 2002 had that look! A 4-6 lift is perfect on these trucks IMO.
-
99 F-350 4x4 with a 7.3L Powerstroke. As of right now, 169,700 incident free miles. I still get 18mpg around town and 24mpg on the highway.

2005 Toyota Tacoma.. 6" lift on 35's with 20's.
-
01 Dodge Ram 1500, 35's, 2 inch leveling kit, line-x in the bed, everything under the hood brandnew as of a couple thousand miles ago.....the best part, its PAID OFF!
-
02 F-150 FX4 4 door white and a 96 Toyota Rav4 blue that is my commuter and my scouting vihicle somtimes
-
F-350 V-10 4x4 6 speed manual, and my home away from home!
-
2002 F-350 Regular Cab 7.3. 201,000K. Just starting to have a few little issues but, nothing unexpected. I expect another 200K.
A little stuck....fell in a soft spot where water flowed under the ice....no fun getting a diesel unstuck off the frame...

F-350 V-10 4x4 6 speed manual, and my home away from home!
I dont know about you, but I like those v-10's. they can have them diesels. :twocents:
-
What sort of mpg do you get with the V10's?
-
I dont keep records, but I would guess around 15 :dunno:
-
I dont keep records, but I would guess around 15 :dunno:
That is much better than I would have guessed.
-
1989 F250 Ford with 71,000 original miles.....
-
Here's mine a 1980 Toyota STR8 CLOWNIN. on this day. He clowned 2 f-250s an a 1500 2005 dodge they was chained up all the way around lol them guys in the fords was pissed cause they had ruined a set of chains the day before tryna make to the cat to get the grader unstuck he has several victims under his belt now is gonna get upgraded to electronic fuel injection
-
2000 Ford f250 7.3l powerstroke 100,000 miles with some power mods :chuckle:
1987 toyota 4runner with a straight axle, non street legal :chuckle:
-
'72 chev 4wd 1/2 ton longbox. 1995 350, th350, maybe 2" lift (spring pack - no lift blocks). she's halfway through a freshening up at my dad's shop, and when she's done, she'll go on the sale block. new paint, bedliner, trim, etc...
what i WANT is a 04-new GMC 1/2 ton shortbox crew cab Z-71. any color but black and red. leather heated seats would be nice. might have to settle for a quad cab though, as the crew cabs are a lot more pricey. :'(
-
F-350 V-10 4x4 6 speed manual, and my home away from home!
I dont know about you, but I like those v-10's. they can have them diesels. :twocents:
Yup! I like the V-10. I drove a 6.9 diesel for 12 years before I got the V-10. I wanted the truck I got, had all the right options and motor, but just not a 4 door. I really like my pickup though! I get 13.5 empty, 11.5 with the 5th wheel camp trailer or stock trailer. Plenty of power.
-
2007 FORD fx4 4x4 and i love my truck and yes its paid for :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
I dont keep records, but I would guess around 15 :dunno:
That is much better than I would have guessed.
We had a F-450 work truck that had a V-10 in it. Biggest POS engine ever. It got maybe 6mpg with the service box on it and it didn't have very many tools in it. The 7.3L pulls much better and gets twice the mileage.
-
Sorry you had a bad experience with the V-10 Jeep, what you describe is not the case with mine!
-
95 GMC Suburban K1500 4x4 350 stock, except hitch and 285/75/16 nokian trail tread tires. Great rig, easy to work on and 150K miles.
-
2006 F250, crew cab lariat.
-
98 Tacoma 2.7L 4cyl, 5spd, ext cab, 32x11.5"BFG muds, stock suspension. very practical rig for running around the mountains.
nearing 300k miles and not a lick of trouble.
11' Tacoma 4.0L V6, 6spd man. crew cab, stock tires and suspension for now. wife drives it. 13k mi.
Got tired of problems with Chevy, Ford, Dodge, sure there are good ones but it seems like Toyota's just have far less lemons... less time under the hood = more time in the hills.
-
1995 12v with a few goodies
-
2002 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with 4.7L v-8, had it 3 months now, seems like a good motor but I preferred the 318 that my 1998 Dakota had. Wish they still offered that motor. :twocents:
-
2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Will buy the same exact truck again someday.
Same here, best truck ever 240k and still rock'n! Also just picked up jeep wrangler for fun and better mileage for day trips.
-
2003 ford f250
-
05 Chevy 2500HD 8.1 ltr 6inch penial lift and 35's
-
2000 dakota with dual magna flows and magnum force intake. Ive put 12000 miles on it since I got it in august and shes still runnin like a champ. 89 Jeep YJ, still under construction, Just Empty Every Penny :chuckle:
-
1st one is my 1995 Chevy which I am in the process of retiring. Another Hunt-Wa member will be giving it a new home in the near future.
2nd one is my new truck that I just got. 2012 Ford F250 LB Crew Cab.
-
'98 toyota tacoma. standard cab, 5 speed, 4 wheel drive, and i can work on the thing. it's my 4th toyota pickup, can't see myself owning anything else, especially with the price of gas.
-
1994 Toyota 4runner, rebuilt motor 240,000+ miles on cooper discoverer stt's.
-
06 Chevrolet duramax crew cab long box. I love the truck and in four months I will love it even more as it will be paid for :whoo:. 20 plus mpg highway with canopy and gear for the week, great ride and enough power for anything I will ever need.
There sure are some nice looking new and old trucks on here, great thread.
-
2004 dodge dakota 4x4. This spring I'm gonna buy a new Powerstoke or Cummins just havent decided which one yet
-
01 chevy silverado. Just got it this past august. Runs awesome and since bought its had spike bull elk and a 4x3 blacktail in the back of it. Hopefully this means the truck is lucky :chuckle:
-
Holy crap some of you guys drive a LOT!!
I put this in the other truck thread going on, but here is a pic of my 2002
-
Now: 2003 F250
Then: 1994 Chevy Z71
-
1993 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 4x4
-
The first pic is of my 97 F-250HD 460 automatic. I was the third owner and I loved this truck. I thought I would drive it till the floors rusted out of it. It had 120,000 miles when I sold it. By the way that load scaled out at 12,800 lbs. We had a child and it was just to much of a hassle to get the baby out of the back seat so it sadly had to go.
The second pic is of my 2005 Ram 2500 SLT Big Horn with 80,000miles. I guess if you can't have the one you want this isn't such a bad consilation. It has the cummins and gets great mileage. I have to admit I love this truck and unless my wife somehow manages to have triplets I think I can keep this one till the floors rust out of it. also I still miss my Ford. You would not believe the complimants that truck would get. seems everytime I was at the gas station (which was often) someone would come over and ask about it. it is hard to keep a truck that long straight and clean
-
no 12v Cummins guys on here?
-
Nothing special but my baby.
-
no 12v Cummins guys on here?
No, they are all busy replacing the transmissions in their trucks..... :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
2006 chevy 6.6L durmax 107,000 miles. Like a rock
-
no 12v Cummins guys on here?
No, they are all busy replacing the transmissions in their trucks..... :chuckle: :chuckle:
how did you know??!!
just put a new one in myself :chuckle:
#3 tranny 250k miles, but to be fair I destroyed my last tranny when a cooler line ruptured and I drove it squirting fluid all over
-
Mine is a 1994 Ford Centurion C350 (1 ton), with a 460 for power. They didn't make many of these. Have had it for nearly 15 years now. Great hunting rig with a ton of room. Even stock it sits higher for better viewing going down road. Just turned 117K and runs like new. Likes gas but will pull the whatever down the road, including my North River. Might say it's been retired to hunting and fishing use for the most part. Never will I part with it.

My other rig is a 82 Jeep CJ-7. It has a 6" spring over lift, 35s, Dana 60s front and rear, 4.56 gears. Spool in the rear, tru-track in the front. Clocked Dana 300 transfer case and flat belly pan. Built AMC 360 V8 backed up by a T-18 4-speed. My Dad bought it new in 1982 and I got it from him in 1994 when I came back from Germany. Drove it by my self 3,522 miles from Concrete WA to Savannah GA with no radio. :o

8 MPG loaded or empty :yike:. Only has a 19gal behind the seat tank so , .... no, I don't pass many gas stations :chuckle:
Owned her over 10 years.

This would be a nice one. But a $100k price tag for one of these, probably wouldn't be the best investment.

Same old work truck still. :dunno:
I saw this truck around St. Helens at your camp site last year. Interesting paint job on it.

06 F350 SD Crew cab Long bed. Chipped and cold air intake. Have not been very happy with this truck. Had a 96 F250 7.3 ltr. Should have kept it. Would out run the new one in a second. Would pull anything. Hindsight is always 20/20.

The old: a 2006 F250, 6.0 PSD with 35" Duratracs, ARP Head Studs, Chipped, Eaton posi trac, Billstein Shocks, etc. LOVED this truck... BUT, some Montana ice took it from me and it ended up on its side after doing a 360.
The NEW: F150 FX4 Crew Cab with the Ecoboost. BLOWN AWAY by this truck. Was going to buy a new PSD but test drove this sucker too and was floored. VERY powerful, VERY quiet, VERY efficient. Comes with electronic locker, Pro Comp Suspension, Ballastic 20" wheels and Nitto Trail Grapplers. 20 MPG and I get to pay gas prices vs. Diesel.

Awesome truck!
Heres mine and the one prior to her...... The first, '97 yota..... Loved it! Great lil truck, 5spd hunting machine. lotsa memories wrapped up in that rig. :) Prolly the only thing I miss about pre kids :chuckle: After kids had to upgrade for carseats. :bash: :chuckle: Another toy 6spd trd offroad. No real mods pretty straight foreward. Overall I have been very pleased, I can see keeping this one a long time.
-
Used to haul my 19 ft Mallard with a Dakota but it was too much to pull up steep hills and seemed like I could never be too far from a gas station. Got this 1998 Dodge Ram diesel and it pulls any hill at the speed limit. I can cross the state with a tank of gas. Only has about 115k on the speedo so it should be able to continue to pull for a long time.

Perfect truck right there.

I get 20 MPG Highway and 16 around town. NO.. you do not have to put premium in, however I have noticed tha I get better gas milege with Premium.
The real genius of this truck is not shown in the commercials.. they just show the gas mileage.. Watch the "Torture Test" http://www.ford.com/new/f-150-torture-test/
They REALLY put this thing to the test... and I must be honest its a HUGE leap in innovation for 1/2 Ton Trucks. The Engine just is not fuel efficient it is a bit scary!... even when you get on it.. it does NOT sound like it is working hard at all.. it is VERY quiet fast and immediate power.. and unlike V8s.. to get max Torque and HP, you dont have to wind up the RPMs.. It gets max Torque at 2500 RPM.. that is why people love their Deisels.. nice lowend torque for hill climbs, etc.
Right now it really is the best 3/4 on the road.. I think the other Auto Makers will be doing something very soon and the traditional big block V8 will become a rarity.
Interesting fact as well.. the Ecoboost came out AFTER the Raptor that has the 6.2 V8.. and it is FASTER and has more torque. With a nice lift like I got, I cost 10K less than a Raptor and get better gas mileage :)
-
Isn't it a 1/2 ton? 150 = 1/2 ton, 250 3/4 ton, etc? Hope i'm not bursting your bubble

I stopped by the Chevrolet Dealership yesterday, for a look at the new Silverado 2012, 1500 pickup. Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new "feel" before they become extinct... The salesman (a black man wearing an Obama "change" lapel pin) sat in the passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful" options.. The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat. Feeling like messing with him, I mentioned that this must be a Republican truck.
Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican truck. I explained that if it were a Democrat truck, the seats would blow smoke up your ass year-round.
I had to walk back to the dealership... Damn guy had no sense of humor.

Jeep, Is it a crewcab? How do you get such good mileage. I don't think I've ever come near 23.

Its an extended cab. I built my own tuner for it (used to be an avionics tech). I also have a manual torque converter lockup I built. Above 35mph, if I lock it solid, there is no slippage.

Current: 2005 Ford F350 V10 4x4 Lariat 8' bed with Leer canopy and 80K miles. No lift. Looking into a Buckstop front bumper, 16k lb winch, MOAB roof basket/rack and tucked / rock protecting side steps! no not really lol :sry: . i love my dodge and wouldn't hardly trade it for anything. i got that truck just before i started driving and had to rewire it from the dash forward due to a fire that started from an electrical short that the company that had it before me. had wired through the fire wall.

Nice trucks folks . I will say I see a bunch of guys just chaining up the fronts . you may want to re think that theory . if you chain the back you can keep her strait and use reveres to stop . I've seen them swap ends pretty fast with the fronts chained up. :twocents:

that's not what you will think when your arsse end goe's past you . 4 is better no doubt ask a hunt wa member on hear how front chains worked two years ago as he was rolling down the mountain . the chevs are a pain in the neck to chain the fronts without mayjor contact too . but then again hoe often do you need to chain a chev ?

That is a rad little pickup there man. Are you running a 22r or have you done a conversion? My friends like to argue about the 3.4 yota and the 4.3 chevy motors. Id like to find an older extended cab and stick a little 289 in there

Nice. How do they handle? I have always liked the look of the BFG's. I currently have Nitto Terra Grapplers, but was thinking of going to the Trail Grapplers next.
-
I went to the bfg all terrains.. What a world of difference.. Much smoother, less noise, WAY lighter, havent trail tested them much. As for the Mud terrains, snow, mud, ice... never experienced anything like them... simply amazing. Although my mud terrains were a race tire that were custom cut so they arent able to be purchased.. got them from a friend.
-
If you're in the market for some of the best tires in my opinion. And not many people have them so thats a plus factor too. First hand.. they are as close to as good as the custom mud terrains without being custom..
Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ.. Cant say one bad thing about them.. Noise wasnt bad. Light for a beefy tire like that.. Not TOO expensive. Lasted FOREVERRR.. And they wheeled like a S.O.A.B.

In the picture of my truck I had the MT Baja ATZ on it. Loved them. They worked great, but I ended with pinhole in one of the sidewalls at 46,000 miles. They still had about 7/32 (+/-) of tread depth on them. I went with the Nitto Terra Grapplers because I was doing a ton of street driving at the time. I will have to look at Mickey Thompsons again.

Awsome - living the dream. Debt free (or getting close) is WAY better than being a slave to your toys and possessions (actually slave to the banks who lend the money for said toys...). Forgot to post mine: 2007 Silverado Vortex Max 6.0ltr LTZ. Have about 180K miles on it and not the slightest issue to report yet. Did a few major raod trips including one from WA to Yellowstone and then hunting in south east Idaho and back through Oregon. Never got tired of driving it. Very comfy and just fun to drive. Then took it down from WA through OR and CA and on to Tuscon for another road trip.
Here it is in Montana with my son and daughter who went on that hunting\road trip with me:

I like to leave things pretty much stock until parts start needing to be replaced, then I'll feel OK messing with things. Maybe a leveling kit or something
One more after a crabbing trip to the sound:
