Maybe PopeShawnPaul, NWBOWHNTER, or others is the "know" could describe the main differences and or emphasis. We obviously have 3 diff organizations because they have different goals.

Is to foster, expand and perpetuate the practice of archery in cooperation with the National Associations, to encourage the use of the bow in hunting all legal game birds and animals; to cooperate with all organizations in the policy of conservation and the propagation of game and wildlife.
The WSAA is tied to the NFAA and USAA. We host 7 State archery tournaments every year, so yes we are a target archery Org. We are also very committed to bowhunting, we have an executive board position just to handle this, the Hunting VP :IBCOOL: and a very strong hunting committee made up of WSAA members who are bowhunters who attend meetings with the WDFW. All 3 of the organizations work together to improve hunting opportunities for us in Wa, they meet quarterly, (the Archery Coalition) of which PopeShawnPaul, Snapshot (TBW) and myself along with others from these Org's are members of. I am currently also a member of the TBW and if I get off my butt will be joining the WSB. Why? Because I support all 3 organizations in what they stand for, and that is supporting the archer in our great state.
The WSAA currently has 44 local clubs and shops that are chartered with the WSAA. ANother very important thing the WSAA is involved in is the NASP program, the NAtional Archery In the Schools Program for our State. Many of our clubs are also heavily involved in 4H, JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development), and other youth archery events, and Bowhunter Education.

So from the brief description of the groups that i have readdddd would it be fair to say that the main difference is WSB wants to promote the fair chaise and WSAA does no make that distinction?

1. To unite bowhunters in Washington State to educate, foster, promote and encourage the art and sport of bowhunting;
2. To coordinate, cooperate with and disseminate information to other interested hunting groups;
3. To gather, record and disseminate information concerning safe, humane and ethical methods of hunting with bow and arrow;
4. To disseminate educational information concerning training bowhunters in the art and sport of bowhunting;
5. To assist any interested persons or organizations with information concerning proper methods of hunting with bow and arrow;
6. To gather and record and disseminate information concerning preservation, propagation and harvesting the various wildlife species in Washington;
7. To promulgate rules and regulations concerning the sporting and ethical methods of taking animals with bow and arrow within the state of Washington according to the rules of fair chase;
8. To promote bowhunting as a healthy and satisfying outdoor recreational sport;
9. To encourage above all good sportsmanship and respect for the animals one hunts, respect for game laws and a deep and sincere appreciation for the natural beauties of our state;
10. To carry out the above purposes and objectives on a nondiscriminatory basis; and
11. To establish, maintain and enforce rules and regulations deemed necessary to accomplish the purposes and objectives of WSB.

WSB promotes our rules of fair chase adopted in our bylaws. WSAA adopts those currently in effect from Pope and Young.
There isn't much of a difference there though. The main differences, as I see it, is WSAA does coordinated archery shoots. WSB does a couple of social events but focuses on the hunting and rules/regulations or political aspect. WSB represents traditional and modern bow hunters. TBW represents just traditional archers. TBW bylaws states they shall, "Join with Washington State Bowhunters as a supporting club, and to join with other clubs in the purpose and activities of the Washington State Bowhunters, when such activities do not conflict with the purpose of Traditional Bowhunters of Washington." So in a way the WSB and TBW were/are linked.
There is no such link with WSAA except WSB has worked with them for years and will continue to do so on seasons issues through the Archery Coalition (WSB, WSAA, TBW).

I read that part and thank you for posting! So am I on the right track as far as the main differnce? Pope?
I joined WSB because I was good friends with founding member Al Rinaldi. I bow hunt but don't shoot in organized archery so between WSAA and WSB, it seemed WSB fit my style more. I'm more interested in the political aspect of a group that has my ideals and works to protect the seasons that I like to hunt in WA. From there, I have only stuck with WSB as I don't shoot traditional archery gear while hunting except I do have a longbow for practice/fun. If I hunted with my traditional gear and did more traditional shoots, etc., I would join WSB and TBW. WSB was also affordable at $15/year.

AS Pope posted the WSAA follows all the current P&Y rules and it is actually a part of our bylaws. I think his explanation is right on the money on the groups and the fact we all work together to represent the bowhunters of this state. Biggest difference between WSAA and WSB is that WSAA also organizes archery shoots throughout the State, for both NFAA and USAA (formerly NAA).
