I have a Belgium made A-5 Magnum, that I got from my grandfather a few years back, and love it.  I'm actually looking at the new humpback to go along with it.  But by no means, is the old faithful going to collect dust.  It's just a solid shooting shotgun, and never let me down.

Hope your shooting lead out of the old A5 you have.  That barrel will not hold up to steel.  I suppose you could have re-barreled it for one that will shoot steel.  I have several old Belgium A-5's.  They only see light lead loads.

I own 3, and I use them all.  I have put several hundred rounds of steel through my 12 light and the bore is still as shiny and smooth as the day it left Belgium.

OK, I'll leave with this link.  Take a look at number 3 on the Browning page.  If you've interchanged with the Japanese barrel you are not damaging anything.  If you are using the older Belgium barrel, even Browning says don't do it.

I know; I’ve had this discussion before.  But I figure if I can’t use them they aren’t good for anything.  I’ll shoot them until they won’t shoot anymore.

Not yet anyhow.  This is just the re-introduction.  Probably get a wider selection if interest is high enough.

My wife wouldn't be very happy if I took 1400$ out of savings and came home with another shotgun.  She just doesn't understand.

I guess that's one difference in me being single and you being married.  The only ones I need to convince are my two labs.  They are usually all for toy purchases and hunting trips.

That is sweet... I also have the Remington and absolutley love it, have shot a LOT of chit with it through the years. I however, would be hard pressed to buy this new A5 over the Bennelli.... :dunno:

I've got a family gun Rem Model 11 (10's are pump action) 12 gauge.  haven't shot it, but no reason why, other than the OTHER family gun i have, a 1928 Win Model 12 16 gauge kills everything i point it at.   :chuckle:

Old model 11 was the first 12 gauge I ever shot.  I still have that gun at my house.  I would like to get it all redone.
