A lot of you guys probably don't care too much but they drew for the 2012 AKC GD Nationals today. 124 total dogs to line up at the historical Ames Plantation in Grand Junction TN. Looks like my dog will be running in the last couple days so I will hopefully be able to watch several days of trials and the last day callback. Should be a great trial with 20 different National Field Champions comming to the line. Gonna be a tough one to place in considering over 15% of the dogs running are all ready National Field Champions and there are only about 20 dogs in the field who aren't FC's. I can't wait.

going to ames ( just to watch) has always been on my bucket list. hope your dog kicks some tail out there.

Thanks guys. Im really looking forward to it. Should be a lot of fun. It will be interesting to see what the judges are looking for. I've seen the brace sheet, some of the dogs are really "true" All Age dogs, and some are "true" Gun Dogs. My dog falls somewhere in the middle. They are going to run 124 dogs and then have up to 12 call backs. To make the call back would be a great accomplishment, but to win at Ames would be historic. Im really crossing my fingers.

Is that on the grounds of the Bird dog hall of fame?

I believe the BDHOF is in Grand Junction, which is only a few miles away. Ames and the BDHOF kind of go hand in hand though. I will be making a trip to the HOF while Im there.
