Anyone have one? What do you think of it? Accurate? Reliable?
My girlfriend is looking to buy a pistol and keeps coming back to the beretta cheetah. It seems to fit her hand better than anything else she's picked up at a gun store. Any real life input would be appreciated.

I have a couple of buddies who bought them for their wives and are less than pleased with them. they said they are not reliable and overpriced for what you get. I have no personal experience with them. then again they say the p22 is crap and my son has one that's incredibly reliable and will shoot anything you feed it. my personal recommendation for a .380 is the sig p238. its the best pocket pistol i have shot and i fully functional. by that i mean safety, slide lock, magazine actually falls free, and the sights are amazing. just my :twocents: but would recommend checking it out.

Good looking little gun, give us a review if you buy it. See if you can rent one somewhere for her to try.

The sig P238 was too small. She's not set on .380, just wants a gun that feels right. And the cheetah seems to be the front runner at the moment.
The P22 is one of the most fun guns I've ever shot, the two people I know that have them love them... I'm going to have to take your buddies advice with a grain of salt.
Been looking to rent one, but haven't found a range that has one to rent.

Absolutely. like I said about the p22. some are great and some are terrible. I'm sure most guns are that way. heck if you don't like it you can re-sell it. is this for your wife?

Here is a review on that gun you might like to read.

A CZ has really good ACP 380 gun. Similar in size to Cheetah... Good reviews and reliable. I know someone who has one, and is very happy. Can't remember the name of the model.

Have her feel a P238 with the 7 round mag with the pinky extension. Makes a world of difference on how the 238 feels. I really like the 238, great carry pistol.
My wife likes the Beretta Bobcat and Tomcat line. She really likes the feel and the ease of operation. So far 100% reliable, no miss feeds in years of use. Most dont like the 32 or 25 acp's, but getting a gun in her hands that she will use was my biggest goal.

Thanks for the link to the review.
We tried one of the Sig's with the pinky extension. I liked it, but she wasn't a fan.
The one in the classifieds is a double stack, I'm interested in the 85 series which is a single stack.
It's for my girlfriend, we came to the agreement it was time for her to get her own pistol and stop using mine... It will be used for general shooting, a competition she and some of her coworkers have twice a year, and self defense. Probably in that order.
As far as the Cheetah goes - Yeah it's not a target pistol, yeah it's not the greatest defensive pistol. But it fits her hand, recoil shouldn't be bad and ammo is fairly cheap and easy to find. I'll have to check out the CZ pistol if we can find it.
Pistol shopping with a girl(I'm exaggerating some...):
Walther P22 is awesome, but she wants a centerfire caliber
.45 is too big
I don't like revolvers
I want a 9mm
Lets buy an XD. (I suggest we shoot one first)
Why do I have to wait a week? I want it now!
(We borrow a friends XD)
I don't like XD's
Walther PK380 has a weird bump that hits her thumb
Glocks are a no
M&P's are front heavy
I like the cheetah
I don't want a military gun (Beretta 92)
1911's are too expensive, why can't I just keep yours?
I don't want to buy a used gun
.45 ammo is too expensive
Lets buy an XD
(We shoot a friends XD again)
No, I don't want an XD
I like the cheetah
Ruger LC9 is a no
Revolvers are a no
I want a 9mm
I like the cheetah
So there you go, she wants a cheap 1911 in 9mm that looks like an XD but fits her hand like a Cheetah and is not a revolver and recoils like a .22...

Wow....Good problem to have / solve! Glad she is wanting a gun. Put a Beretta Tomcat 32acp in her hand. Show her the barrel feature, my wife fell hard for this gun. She will not let it out of her site! She loves the way it feels and knows how to use it. Just a thought. Humor me.

Beretta tomcat is too small. Found one at skagit arms to tryout.

You can find a CZ in Federal Way Discount Gun and I think that Champion Arms also have it...
