Spring bear season,
I wonder about this. My Guess if there was 2,000 applied for spring bear 2008. if those half applied was a bunnyhugger? :o Any thought? Why the bear aren't down?
Bear is out of control around WA. I believe there is 500 permits to be hunting during spring season. half east and half west, Each hunter can be bag two. Well let me guess I wonder if the half of permits are bunnyhugger to protect bears from hunters. :bash:
Any thought?
Gas expensive?
Too Hot to Hiking? :fishin:
Market down??
Too hard to catch bear? :cmp1:
Less access?
Too much Beer? :chuckle:
No Money??
bunnyhugger? >:(
How many hunter on this site have KILLED bear on spring bear 2008??
If someone knew that they wont make it and not like the Choice unit area, then can they give it back to WDF and they will redraw for other hunter??? It would be thoughtful? :EAT:
I am counting down... till August 1. My rifle is coming with me everyday!...

You can only kill one during the spring season. Two per year, but only one can be from the Eastside.
-
BTW.
I would rather they cut us back to one a year.
-
I too would rather see them cut it back to one bear yearly, but have a general OTC spring season as well.
-
Why only one bear? There seems to be plenty of them around and it's nice to be able to hunt something big for more than a weekend or two. Even when I was hunting areas that you can drive almost right up to I've never ran into a hunter in the woods. I say let the guys who can find them have 2 and none for the rest. As for a spring season I think if there was a general hunt the success rate would be too high especially on the wetside. The bears are in open cuts and on roadsides eating grass. Road hunting actually works and bears don't seem to smarten up fast enough that time of year. I'd rather it be a draw only and 2 in the fall....

i see no problem with two bears a year. i dont think there are as many casual bear hunters as there are deer and elk hunters. in lieu of baiting or hounding, two sounds like sounds managment.
-
I have killed two a year on more then a couple occasions but I think it would be nice to see more bears on a regular basis.
-
c'mon over to kitsap then! they are almost behind every berry bush. past three years i have not killed a bear out of pickiness, but this year is a diff story.
-
I agree with you Huckleberry.

If I knew where, I probably would. I am not picky about hides.
