Title: High alpine antelope hunt in Wyoming?
Post by: shanevg on January 25, 2012, 09:32:45 PM
I got a letter today from Altimus Adventures advertising an alpine antelope hunt above 10,000.  Anyone ever heard of this?  Unfortunately their website doesn't talk about it at all.

Here is what the letter said:
We are offering a high alpine (above 10,000') pronghorn antelope hunt in Wyoming!  We continue to find good numbers of antelope in the bighorn sheep country  We can drive to most all of this country so it is not physically demanding.  Buck quality runs 14-15".  This hunt is very drawable with 0-1 its to draw.  If you want to experience a very unique antelope hunt and look at bighorn sheep and many big bull elk, bull moose at the same time, let me know.  Only $1695 per person first come first serve.

I wonder what unit this is in... that would be a lot of fun!

The price is about normal for a lope hunt in wy. Its not a deal by any means but sounds a little goofy. I would not think of many speed goats up that high. Only your white fluffy ones :chuckle:

Ran into a lot of lopes over there at 10K ft. One area in specific.

I've seen them up high right around 10k ft as well but not big numbers at all... they looked very lost. One of the areas I have been saving points to put in for backs right up to the hills and wilderness areas in the NW, but high elevations is not where I would consider putting in my time. Would be an interesting hunt though... let us know what you find out
