HUNTINCOUPLE,
Surprisingly there really wasn't that much entry, what you see is what I saw as well.
The prizes weren't that bad, got a range bag, headphone, shooting glasses, a 4in knife and my deer received a medal for second place. I didn't stay around, just got my deers prize and took off..(If you ain't first........Quote from Ricky Bobbi)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg11.imageshack.us%2Fimg11%2F9053%2Fblktaildeer2.jpg&hash=da3ed322acaa34312be219979d118efbbb587167) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/11/blktaildeer2.jpg/)

I mounted the the buck that is truned to the right he is on the 2ed pic on the left. He grossed 187 and neted 181 and took first in NT archery. Ill post pics in the taxidermy section this week. Thanks for stopping by the booth and saying hi to us at OVGS booth
-
Did you get a pic of the new state record muzzy bull taken in king county. He scored 398
-
TURKEY SLAYER,
I did, I'm having issues downloading the pics from my cheap a$$ phone.. ?He was impressive.... :yike:
-
Ya him and that blacktail euro with all the trash in your 3rd pic
-
Cool pics! thanks for sharing wish I could have seen them in person ;)
-
Here are my horns, they got first for archery on the wet side (Cascade Roosevelt) they grossed 312.........the rifle and muzzy from the west side were MASSive! and from King county to boot?! I wasn't going to enter mine, I was just curious what they scored and when I checked and saw they'd be in first for archery, I decided to leave them.
Mike

WAmuleyHunter,
The second picture on the top was the only Muley section that I saw... The contest rule was that you brought your rack in and it had to stay there throughout the duration of the contest, and if something bigger came in then it would of been knocked down depending if it out scored yours...There were several other impressive racks on the table behind the scorers but I'm assuming it didn't place in the competetion. I know someone else will be more specific on the rules. The contest wasn't just for bucks harvested from 2011, but from past as well. The Blacktail that took first place in my category was a 2004 buck from pierce county measuring at 140.

Nice job Mike!!
-
congrats & thanks, missed the show once again.....
-
Thanks for the pic's. Too me, the impressive one is the first picture, upper dead center looking at the camera. Pierce County Blacktail. That thing is so wide. I was slobbering over that one.
-
Congrats everyone! Some real dandys!
-
So what did you win? Was it the medal or was it cash or prizes?

I am assuming thats the 140 buck. Sure is a nice blacktail. I love the one to the right of him. Old mossyhorns are my fave!

I'd like to congratulate Tommy who got 1st place in the Youth Mule deer section. He got his deer last year over in the Davenport area. 2nd deer to make the record book for youth off the property we lease in 3 years. His deer was a gross score of 146 and a net of 142. Good job Tommy!

From King County? Was it a watershed bull?
-
No I herd it was north of I90 in North Bend area
-
NICE BUCK TOMMY!

Second place runner ups received a range bag, eye pro w/ multiple lens, a coast knife, and a headphone. I'm not sure what the first place runner up received...The Mounts received a medal, White for 1st and red for 2nd, green for 3rd...There was an overall prize for a gun safe, but that drawing won't be done until the Oregon expo....Hoped this helped out....
-
I got a knife and a flashlight that at first was making me wish i had gotten the binoculars that were going with the knife to some other guys....but the light is actually pretty cool too upon further review. Any of the prizes are just icing on the cake....like I said i just wanted the horns scored and didn't even care about the contest. The drawing for the gun safes is after 3 other shows, then they pick two or three winners for those, like a raffle drawing with the winners tickets stubs. I just liked walking around with my kids and having people ask about the horns, I think the kids were eating it up too. Of course there was the guy that asked me where I had bought them at the show and how much they were. Then he wanted to know what animal they came from :) REALLY?!

thye 398 bull came out of ravens dale. shot during rifle season . butt with a black powder. the guy shot it in his yard .

If this is true it should have not even be counted as a winner. Was he sitting on his porch while the elk was at his feeder. :bash: :bash:
-
Don't know about a 398 bull but this one was taken close to there.
-
Popes 3 point muley took first place and grossed 177"

At 177" he must have just been a little crabby :yike: :chuckle: You need to tell him to post some pics on here
-
I didn't go, but my cousin said there was a 398 bull there that had a broken tine. So it would of been over 400. It said it was from king county.
-
Thats not the bull that was in there that scored 398 that might be the one that went 387 but not the 398 bull. his left back had like 4 real short sticker points and his 3rds were way longer.
-
not to go off topic, but did anyone see that 40 point non typical muley at one of the booths? That thing was gnarly looking.
-
So a 3 pt took the mule deer current rifle? There were some huge 3pts this year!
-
There was a 3pt there that went 38 inches from Montana. It was really spindly but wide
-
The 38" wide 3 point is Popes but it's from Oregon not Montana.
-
Was that his Grandads three point? That was a cool deer.
-
O ok I must of miss read it. I have pics of that one head on Ill post um
-
He had pics on here a couple years ago, if its the same deer. The albums are gone though. We might have lsot them with the changeover or he might have pulled them.
-
