Spring is just around the corner. Get out and do some scouting. Only then you will see what a beezely buck looks like. I would imagine the bucks would have some of the same genetics as the desert unit seeing I-90 is the only thing that splits the unit.

Have ever been there. You know were all the property corners are.One thing about that unit they don't like tresspassing. Spend the time scouting use you glass use map web sites. There are a lot of real nice deer in that unit it will just take time. Does anyone else hunt it if so talk to them. If not just take the time and study the property. Any questions give me a call.

Thanks Brandon

There's deer but the bucks get massacred. I dont think many make it past 4 years old, I personally have never seen one older then 4. Unless you have private ground to yourself your going to see tons of people.......

REALLY tough unit to hunt w/o private land access.

I used to have access to a terrific ranch there, but lost it when the rancher's son took over the operation.    I'd love to hunt that place again......

They do not appreciate trespassers in that area.

ill be doing some scouting soon, just trying to figure out if i want to hunt modern muzzy or archery, ill have the place to myself plus whoever i invite, but would it be worth going archery so i can get the late season over there?

I would wait in til July to start scouting and be careful with how many people you bring on you hunting ground. Sometimes property owner will get upset. I have permission to hunt over 12,000 acres and I only bring one other person on it and that's my dad. I did bring a disable friend on the property last year and he shot a really nice 5x5 but now he thinks is his now all so, but I had to explain to him it was a one time deal.

Well bobcat ill see what I can do, now the question is should I hunt in modern muzzy or archery, the upside to archery is there is late season over there but cant decide, I have all 3 weapons so its a hard choice

I would go modern if you will be the only hunter out there. Or it might be worth it to spend the $180 on the multi-season tag for your first season there, so you can experience each one.

With a modern tag or a muzzleloader tag you only get 9 days to hunt. Archery you get about 5 weeks.

I would go for the multi-season if you can afford it.

But with muzzy there are still in there bachelor herd and not so spooky. If you scout you shouldn't have no prob with a muzzy

yeah what turkey slayer said.  dont invite everyone. they start to think they can go whenever they want. its yours, dont share it and dont upset the landowner.   just my 2cents.  awesome luck to you.
