Title: Need some input
Post by: Lybeck on February 02, 2012, 05:43:57 PM: One of my professors approached me about using one of my pictures to have blown up and mounted on 16x20'' canvas to hang in his office. As payment he is going to pay to have one done for me also. I'm torn between these three pictures and would like some outside perspectives to weigh in.

the elk doesnt really do anything for me, personally

the mallards shot is really good and the first shot of the wood duck where hes facing you is really good especially with the blue sheen of his feathers on his head

Post by: wall of wood camp on February 02, 2012, 07:06:04 PM: I am always more partial to big game pics but this time I'm in agreement with the majority that is an awesome pic of the mallards over the snow something about the angle with the outbuilding anchoring the bottom of the shot great picture.

Post by: Tom Reichner on February 03, 2012, 06:54:00 PM: In my opinion, the Mallard image will make the nicest canvas print.
One thing to keep in mind with the canvas prints (a.k.a. "gallery wrap"): The entire image is printed on canvas, then the canvas is stretched around a frame. The outer edges will be wrapped around and behind the frame, so that whatever is along the margins will be "lost". It's similar to having the image cropped slightly. With the Mallard pic, this may result in the mallard furthest to the left being right on the very edge of the frame, as opposed to being placed nicely within the margins as it now appears.
