I'm looking to get a climber, never had one. Anyone have the Gorilla Greyback? At $150 the price is ok. It's 27 pounds. If not does anyone have any recommendations on one that won't cost an arm and a leg? What features are a must? Weight, comfort, and ease of operation important to me.

Tmike I have a Summit Backpacker climbing tree stand ($229)that weighs 20 lbs. It works well for me. I am not familiar with Gorilla treestands. Does the Gorilla come with carrying straps? How large of trees can it climb? Can you attach your pack to the outside? Comes with a safety harness? Is it easy to set up. How much weight will it hold? Sounds like the Gorilla is better priced but heavier.

It has carrying straps, works with 8-22 inch trees, comes with a safety harness, and holds 300 pounds. I'm wondering about the seat and comfort too. Is yours a Viper? Open in front? How about anyone else? There has to be a lot of guys here with climbers :dunno:

Like the Viper mine is real comfy. But is not open in the front which makes it easier to climb with as you have a place to rest your rear as you are climbing
