So I posted this on another site aswell but trying to build a reloading bench. First step was to clean out the garage but I have to many hunting and fishing hobbies so not alot of room. I was hoping to build a bench that wrapped around the corner in my garage but not going to happen. As an alternative I decided to look into prefab benches. I noticed husky has a nice bench but was a little concerned about the metal stainless top. Any input would be great.

i just bought the woodworking bench from harbor freight and it works great! it was on sale for 130.
-

-
i bought it in store. do you have a Harbor Freight near you? it is very heavy and doesnt move even when sizing 300 RUM brass
-
I got one too, the HF bench, works awesome, might get another one!

You can get coupons to get it for 139, got mine in store too, but their site says shipping is $7?

I picked up some kitchen cabinets from the habitat for humanity resale store, used ply for a counter top. works great even picked a couple small wall hanging ones up to go about the bench.

That HF bench looks good for the price (especially Oak)

What ever you end up getting check the position of the support under the front edge as it will line up with your press' bolts. Lots of them will be where you don't want them.

Has anyone been to Costco in a while? Last time I was there they had one similar to the one in the picture but was built ALOT sterdier and heavier. It also had wheels that could be lowered if you ever wanted to move it around. If I didn't already have a bench I would have bought one myself. Anyone else see the same one I'm talking about???

I saw one in the Yakima Costco last weekend that was probably the one you are talking about. It was really nice and had overheard cabinets. It was really nice.

Yep, that sounds like the same one. When I was standing there looking at it I was thinking to my self this would make one heck of a nice reloading bench. It looked to be built very stout too.
My reloading table is made by that same comapny and I bought it at Costco but it's 7ft long and is just the table no back board or cabinets.

I couldnt get that HF link to come up but I did a search on the website and came up with 3. One looks like the 1st pic for $99, then they had a 4 drawer 60"hardwood for 159, and a little cabinet style for 199.
From the link title it looks like you got the hardwood one? And its good? I am now reloading shotshells for clays and I want a good bench so my wife can have her formal dining table back. :chuckle: But I kinda like the one in the 1st post, as long as its sturdy I would get one like that. Thanks for the info guys, I would have never thought to look at Harbor or Costco!

That metal bolt together one will start creeking after about a year of reloading. The first time you ding the stock on a good huntin rifle on the sharp formica corners of that one you'll be unhappy. The hardwood one from Harbor Freight is tough to beat for the price and is pretty sturdy with slightly rolled edges of the top. Otherwise, build a 2x4 frame and put a solid core hardwood door on top. You and get them at 're-use it type stores for pretty cheap. It will be bigger and heavy enough.

Tripple, yes, its the 4 drawer one for 159, they give out coupons all the time knocking it down to 139. Its very stout, reloading 7mm mag on it wont make it rock, Im very satisfied and might buy a second one.

Cool - I'll have to go in there. I get coupons from them all the time in the mail. I just had a good one too, dont remember exactly but it was a good enough discount that I took notice. The ad also had an "executive gun safe" that looked about 15 cu ft for like $200. I dont expect it to be real high quality or fire rated but it may make a good ammo and/or "overflow" safe.

usually theres a coupon in the paper for 20% off a single item at HF i used it on the bench and got it for 128!
-
I think next time I'm in lacey I'll pic up one of theses benches!!! Thanks!!

-

-
Do you know where there is another Harbor freight in washington state?
-
check their website.
-
There is one in Bellevue, just a block west of Sears on 20th.
-
There is one in Olympia, that is, unless they closed it recently. Nice bench. Thanks for posting upp that picture of it in use JohnVH. Going to pick up one for sure.
-
One in olympia and there's one in north tacoma in the same lot as the sears scratch n dent outlet and comcast. The one in olympia had a bigger selection last time I was in there about a year ago.
-
Actually not in Olympia. It is in Lacey just off of Lacey Blvd.
-
Thanks guys I plan on picking up a bench next time I'm in Lacey!!!

Just picked up one of these benches today. Very nice bench indeed. Was on sale for $159.99 and had two coupon codes (could only use one). One was $90 off the retail which dropped it to $139.99 and the other code was for 20% any single item, which dropped it to $127.99. Of course I opted for the 20% off.
That code is good only through tomorrow, February 29th.
Here's a link to the 20% off any single item coupon. If you can't print it all you need is the numbers under the bar code. Thought I would pass it on.

I picked up the same bench from Harbor freight. very impressed with the quality, felt lined drawers. My wife was shocked how much nicer it was than what she expected for $130
