Does anyone use the Dave Smith turkey decoys? I have found they work good, thinking about picking up a flock. Any other testimony to the decoys??

I know Dave is a darn good goose hunter. Also a heck of good guy. So I would have say his decoys are good. Unfortunately I have not hunted with then. I do know a lot of guys think they are great. I little spendy but........

Well I know how many turkeys I have killed and I do not think a guy needs to waste all that gas money :chuckle: :chuckle: :twocents:

I have known Dave for a long time. He came to many BlackTail group events over the years that Muskrat hosted in Lacey. His turkey decoys are very nice but you still have to bag them individually so they do not get scratched. The last time I talked to him, Dave said he only uses 3 hens and a jake. That is it. And at times he only has a few hens... He hunts mostly Oregon so take information for what it is.

Great looking..can be hard to pack around. keep them bagged to keep them from getting scratched.

I have a Dave Smith feeding hen. Looks as real as you're going to get. Mine came with a carry bag. Like anything a little time spent being careful and things remain in like new condition. Mine has never been in the field...brand new. Thinking about selling it as I really don't use decoys all that much.

I'll give you $10.00?

I bet you would...lol. :chuckle:

I've hunted with them and there great looking decoys but their bulky and can get in the way if your hiking. I personally won't pay that amount of $$$ for a decoy. I like the portability and convenience of the foldable foam decoys.

my buddy and i used his dave smith decoy and had some good succses. fun to watch the hens get pissed off at it. some of them really cant decide why it makes a hollow noise when they attack it :chuckle: but also have a zink avian x decoy and it works great and looks just as good and easier to carry :twocents:

Sometimes decoys take the attention away from your possition. Turkeys are where you find them and sometimes there is no good place to setup against a tree or bush.
I shot two in the middle of a wheat field while lying face down. The decoy kept the turkeys distracted until I could shoot.
