Title: need insterts glued in, Shelton/Bremerton area help needed
Post by: DoubleJ on February 13, 2012, 12:43:52 PM
If someone in the bremerton/shelton area can glue a dozen inserts for me, I would be much appreciative.  Went to Wholesale Sports in Silverdale on my lunch break and they wanted $1/arrow for a service that I have never paid for from them.  I won't be back.  I can go to Lacy but, was hoping to avoid the trip.

Thanks

Best stuff I have found is gorilla tough impact resistant super glue. I have arrows with the camo wrap worn off and the inserts are still holding strong.

If you use hot glue, you can potentially remove the inserts...if you needed.  I use HIT, which require you to superglue them in.  So if I mess up, then I have to buy new arrows.  But...worth the technology.

You can get out inserts that are super glued in, including the HIT inserts.  Take the nock off and get a drill bit that will fit inside the arrow shaft.  Put the nock back on.  Swing the arrow, holding the nock end so that the drill bit hits the insert.  Usually four to five times is enough to get the insert out.

Almost grabed that.  Went with the Loctite gel.  Seems ok so far.  They are for my sons arrows so, I hope they hold up.
