Be aware
I will be changing the entire way I fish and fill the boat
$1500 repair bill I religously used Marine formula STABIL and still had that crap eat my motor from the inside
I will now fill cans at the marina and store as empty as I can over the winter
lesson learned the hard way

I stopped using that crap a couple years ago. I now use SeaFoam. Seems to actually work. Getting hard to find gas without ethanol anymore.
-
Thanks for the feedback
was not aware seafoam will help with ethanol
-
If you can find a CFN gas stop they have ethanol free premium gas at at least 1 pump, thats where I fill up, its a bit more expensive but beats the alternative. Its very easy to become a CFN member too !!

Also Cenex Coops have at least one pump of ethanol free fuel.

:yeah: I use it for my v-drive and seafoam brought it back to life. Read the seafoam web page and sounds like one of the 1st additives invented because of some fishermen tiered of always having to take apart their outboard motors to clean.
-
You can go to pure-gas.org to find stations who have non-ethanol fuel.
-
110 or higher :chuckle:

Stabil smells like $hit too. I started to have problems with all the carburetors on my Stihl equipment. I switched to SeaFoam and have had zero problems since.
-
Seafoam actually improved the performance of my outboard...Stabil sucks.

Do not take a whiff of that seafoam either. If kids huff that they would be brain dead in a flash.
-
Been using seafoam for about 3 years now. Before that every year the small jets on my outboard were clogging up. Since I have been using Seafoam no more clogged jets, just routine maintenance now.
-
Good info
seafoam it is and Cenex in Poulsbo says they have ethanol free gas
thanks
-
Does seafoam prevent the ethanol from breaking down and attracting water ??
-
From what I read yes, The thing I am not sure about is the corrosion that the ethanol caused in VST tank not sure if it helps with that

From the Seafoam site.........
To add volatility and stabilize fuel for up to 2 years, add 1 oz. Sea FoamŪ to each gallon of fuel. To clean fuel injectors and carburetor jets do the same. To neutralize moisture build up..the same mixture.
So it appears that 1 oz. of Seafoam per gallon of gas will do all of the above.

Excellent !! I am switchin to seafoam now, I'll have to use up the green staybil so I have a cool bottle to put the seafoam into though !!!
Thanks for the information !!!

No problem. Yeah I have a couple bottles but have never used it. Plan on trying it in both the truck and the boat.. For what it;'s worth, I did a search and there are some who don't like it. On guy said it clogged up his jeeps fuel filter. Others said it wasn't the Seaform. More positives than negatives. A little like a chevy/ford argument.

two cycle boat motors also or just 4 strokes...damn I just put stabil in mine
-
Here you go.........from their site.........
Sea FoamŪ is safe for ALL commonly used engines Automotive, Truck, Industrial, Agricultural, Motorcycle, Marine, Small Engines (lawnmowers, yard tools, etc.), and even Rotary (Wankel Type) engines. 2-cycle and 4-cycle as well as diesel engines, when used as directed, are completely compatible with Sea FoamŪ.
