This deer was shot by my Great-Great Grandpa. The buck was actually shot in 1913 but not scored until 1933. Sorry for the crappy pic but its a picture of a picture. Enjoy.

:yike: what area? That a great buck!

All i will say is Stevens County. The picture does this buck no justice. It scores 266 1/8. 34 total points.

Tank isn't the word! Thanks for sharing.

I thought that looked like a NE corner buck. COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats not the Leclerc Creek buck is it. Seems like his tines were fewer but longer.
-
No its the Mally Buck not the LeClerc buck. That bigger of the two drops is like 10 1/2" and is damn near beer can circumference. Growing up it hung on the wall at my Great Grandma's next to about a 175 inch whitey. For some reason i thought all deer were that big when i was a little kid. :chuckle:

Tell the story about the Game Dept. getting a call by someone who saw it hanging. Reported it as an elk being shot out of season.

In 1913? It looks like it was 1915 when they first started any sort of 'regulations'. Sounds like a fish story to me. :chuckle:

I rented a house from the daughter of the man who shot this buck. She told me the story of the deer and yes there was no season for elk at that time. That's why the game Dept. was called. The person making the call thought it was an elk because it was so big. She was also told by the game dept. that they thought it was a Mule / blacktail cross, that's why it was so big. There was two other very nice drop tine whitetail bucks hanging on the wall with this one on the back porch of her house. After she died there was a fight from some of the family of who was going to get the head mounts. Glad to see this kid get the head mount. BTW, I know where this buck was shot. And I won't tell. :chuckle:

Awesome Deer.

Thats the general antler configuration (on steriods) in that general region, nothing to do with blacktails.
