Taking a completed knife and blasting it.
But you can't argue with the results!

Client requested a "Completely Satin Finished" knife. Fully non-reflective on EVERY surface.
I thought it was kind of a neat idea so I agreed. Turned out Uber-Cool!
It's a production 440c stainless blade, nickle silver bolsters, and pins. Stainless Mosaic pin and lanyard grommet. Desert Ironwood scales, with ivory paper micarta spacers and white vulcanized carbon spacers along the tang.
The sheath may take me a minute, as I got a couple surprise last minute rush orders to fill. But it'll be decorated leather and the knife will wear a nice leather pulling tail.
I might do one like this for myself!!!

Hellasweet!
-
grinning ear to ear, steve...
couldn't have turned out better.
-
Congratulations Josh !!! Your a lucky dog !!
I have always said that the dullest looking knife should always be considered the most dangerous !!! ;)
You have proven me right once again Steve That thing is SHARP Now I want one !!! :P
Excellent work as always !!!
Nice Job !!!
I think the satin finish is much better looking then the shiny polished look and makes the knife look razor sharp as well !!
-
Out of all the knives ive seen on here, in my opinion that is the best looking one.
-
Thats really nice. I agree I think that is my favorite knife so far.
-
Purdy!!! ;)
-
i'm afraid to get it bloody.
damn that thing is cool.
-
I love that one! All my knives have flat finishes.....left over habits from when something shiny could get you killed, lol.
Beautiful knife, That one has a simplistic beauty (could not think of how to discribe better) a totally functional kinda pretty, lol.
-
i got the knife in the mail today, guys and all i can say is wow....it is perfect. the sheath is a work of art in itself. i will post up some pics of the sheath and knife when i have a chance.
if any of you guys are looking for a custom knife you'd be proud to show off to anyone, get one from steve now, cuz the prices are surely going to go up once he gets his name out there a bit more.
great work again, steve.

Awesome looking knife. I have a question though...when you go to sharpen it, will it lose that satin finish?
-
Sharpening it carefully should never be an issue, as you can see, the cutting edge isn't satin. It will lose some of it's even-ness with handling, but that'll look kinda cool too. Kinda like natural aging.
-
i haven't even cut anything with it yet, nevermind tried to sharpen it yet. no need for that yet...
-
Damn nice looking knife.
