I'm still here but sore. It'll be a while before I'm 100% but nothing is broke. I count myself lucky as it could have been much worse.
I was falling some bigger spruce out into some recently logged alder with a lot of slash and chunks left. One of the trees I fell flipped a chunk up and back at me and try as I might I couldn't get out of the way. Knocked me down and ended up across my hips. My entire torso took the blow so it was spread out a little and soft ground I went down on which helped.
Guy that helped me get out estimated the chunk to be between 500 and a thousand pounds. About 16' long and 12" to 10" through.
I thought it was smaller but I was talking to him today and that is what he said.
