Thought I would share. I shot this Monster Cow in the Hangman B Unit. I was getting ready to throw the head away and my hunting partner said "you should get a Euro mount of that!" I said, that would be dumb, it is a cow! And then he said well you may never get another chance to shoot a WA Moose again in your life. I thought about it and said , "what the hell!". I am very glad I did it. looks kind of cool in my office. The bullet casings at the bottom were the ones I used from my late fathers rifle.
Thought I would share. It was done by Mike Sumpter in Spokane at SouthHill Taxidermy.

Congrats! Did it take three rounds to drop, or are those bullets for display only?
-
That is a great idea....it looks awesome too.
-
Good for you....a trophy is a trophy and besides, many of us have never had an opportunity to put a moose on the wall. Looks great man. By the way, how are the steaks! :EAT:

Looks great! With a lot of memories too, both old and new.

Well If I am being honest, I am a bowhunter of 25 years and have not shot this rifle since before then other than sighting in for this hunt. I brought my bow as well and it was my primary weapon. But I did not get the opportunity I wanted with the bow so when I saw this huge cow out at 120 yards looking at me I grabbed the gun from my partner and knelt down. I missed with the first two rounds and dumped her with the 3rd. She was walking. My nerves had a bit to play with it, I am guessing.... :chuckle:

 I think it's great!!
-
Thats cool to mount 3 rounds below the skull  Congrats on the hunt!
-
You know, i'd never have thought of it either, but now that I've seen it, i will consider it if the opportunity comes up.. .hell yeah...
You know what would be sweet though, is if you could preserve that huge piece of cartilage that holds their nose up.... that thing is Sooooooo cool.
-
Looks great, nice plaque choice
-
More than worth it just for the anatomy lesson.
-
Great idea to preserve the memories. It might be the pic but there is a lot of grease left in that skull which is the yellow spots
-
It is cool looking kind of prehistoric, looks like Mike should have degreased a little longer thou, but then the grease also adds character, I really like the plaque as well
-
My cousins little bro got a cow and had it mounted as well. It is a monster skull!!! It was also his first big game animal. He also shot a cow elk the same day with a muzzle loader! What a lucky kid

I did one last year for a youth hunter and I have to say it turned out really cool. Here is a few from last year
-
Very cool! The more I look at it the more I am so glad that I did it to preserve the memory.
