It looks like somebody's melanistics got loose. :chuckle:

Something I wanted to start doing is release some chicks and see how well they survive. I might need to thin out a few yotes first.
-
Looks like dinner to me! :dunno:
-
ONCE THE SEASON STARTS THEY WILL DEFINATELY BE DINNER, BUT FOR NOW I HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE ANNOYING SOUND OF MY DOGS GOING WACKO SQUEALING, AND WHINING WHENEVER THEY COME AROUND.
-
You'll find they are more fun to watch than eat.

YEAH, I DOUBT I'LL GO AFTER THE BLACK ONES, THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 3 OR 4 OF THEM, BUT THE OTHER ONES WILL DEFINATELY BE TARGETS. :chuckle:
OH,.. AND THE BEST THING I LIKE ABOUT UPLAND HUNTING IS WATCHING MY DOGS WORK, SHOOTONG THE BIRD IS A LITTLE BONUS FOR ME.

THE BEST THING I LIKE ABOUT UPLAND HUNTING IS WATCHING MY DOGS WORK,
YEP!
I saw 3 roosters near the house this morn... they are starting to crow pretty good too....
-
YEAH, MY PLACE IS JUST INSANE IN THE EARLY MORNINGS, ROOSTERS ARE CROWING LIKE CRAZY. THESE TWO WERE HENS, THE BLACK ROOSTERS ARE WAY BIGGER.
-
are they naturals or plants......i actually had to swerve out of the way to miss a pheasant on orting kapowsin highway just the other day, its been a few years since i have seen one runnin around, but i am sure its a pen raised bird, not positive though, it would be nice to see naturals runnin around on the westside again

THEY'RE ALL PEN RAISED BIRDS, BUT THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH WILD, THEY ESCAPED FROM A NEUBOR SEVERAL YEARS AGO, AND THEY HAVE BEEN BREADING IN THE WILD HERE. THERE'S 50+ THAT I KNOW OF RUNNING AROUND HERE. NOBODY REALLY HUNTS THEM EXCEPT RESEDENTS ONCE IN A WHILE. WE HAD A COUPLE GUYS THAT JUMPED OUT OF THEIR TRUCK AND RAN ONTO OUR NEIBORS PROPERTY AND SHOT ONE, THEN TOOK OFF LEAVING THE BIRD,.. THE NEIBOR CAUGHT UP TO THEM AT THE GAS STATION AND CALL THE POLICE,... GUYS GOT IN TROUBLE.. :chuckle:

Sounds like you need to get some young ones down there with a 20g and thin the heard!

Had this one in my horse paddock a couple years ago. We live near Lake Tapps on the westside. Drove my setter nuts for awhile. Must have been someones pet, it flew off and I never saw it again.
