Title: Bi-Mart blowing out Rem700's again scope/rifle 369.00
Post by: Biggerhammer on March 15, 2012, 07:49:04 PM
I know I have posted in the past when these rifles go on sale, it's a smoking deal! I purchased two today. They are the matte blue SPS/ADL's, the rifle 3-9x40 scope package. I sell the scopes for 47.00 shipped and the stocks and hardware for 50.00 each on another forum. If you need a donor action for a build, you can't beat it, as soon as the barrels are pulled I'll sell them for 50.00 each.

Where else can you buy a .300 Ultra Magnum and a .243 Win Remington 700 for 399.00 out the door including tax. After I sell off the scope, stock and barrel. I'm only into the action for 250.00.

Here's the .300 Ultra Broke down and the barreled action is going to Benchmark Barrels in the AM for a .338 Edge build, should have it back in 10 weeks.

They had .300 Win, 30-06, 7mm Mag, .308, .243 Win. All 369.00

Yeah I have been thinking about buy a couple myself. They have the sale going on here to. The normal price is 389.00 on them so they are 20.00 off and I have no sales tax in oregon where I get mine.

Dang hammer I finally found someone who goes threw as many guns as me :chuckle: I already bought 2 this month. I am going to order 2 more and working on getting another won on gun broker.

Plus My banquests start this Saturday :yoke: look out! I might break 10 this month :chuckle:

I appreciate that you are tearing them apart and going custom with them, but I'm wondering how good a rifle they are "stock".    I'm not trying to be critical, I just don't know rifles that well.

Can I buy one of them for my son for a hunting rifle and put a decent scope on it and have a good low-price rifle for my son?

Yes for sure dan-o!

My best friend hunts with a stock 30-06 sps. Buy one sell the scope and rings for a few bucks and get a good set! His 30-06 shoots very well for. 370.00 they are very very hard to beat. I do favor the tikka because they are lighter and do shoot better. They are about 180.00 more.

If they don't have the cartridge your looking for, they can get it from another store or the warehouse. Sale ends the 21st this go around.

I guess I did the math wrong, I come up with only having $250 into the action. What did I miss?

I'm kinda glad I never got addicted to buying so many guns that I can't ever shoot them all. Heck I bought a Browning A bolt back in 1997 for $527 out the door, and that's the only rifle I've hunted with for the last 14 years. I just don't see the need for another. I do have a Weatherby Vanguard in 30-06 that I got cheap and I keep it around for a back up rifle in case my scope goes bad on me or something. But why have 20 rifles when one will do it all?

:chuckle: why 20? Because I have one for every hunt I go on :chuckle: They all have there places :chuckle:

I go threw a lot of guns, It's not like I am keeping them all.

Carp,

In your opinion, completely stock Rem 700 or Savage 110 in .308?  I have the savage and love it but, if a Rem 700 is that much better, I may switch.  I do have a Rifle Basix trigger group on the Savage though so, I'm in another $100 on top of the $400 I paid.

In all truth I can say remington 700. I have bought a few savages and they have never been good guns for me. A couple were o.k but I will not buy anymore savages.

I must have gotten a good one then.  I'm happy for the most part with it.  couple of things I don't care for but, in that price range, I didn't feel like I could be picky over the ticky tack stuff.

Damnit, now I'm gonna have to save a couple hundred dollars.  Probably only get $200-$250 for the savage.

I just could not dial in the savages to shoot better then 1.5 or so at 100 yards. I hate the triggers in them, maybe it's just me but they are one of the only brands I won't buy anyome. If you really want a killer keep the savage awhile and then get a tikka. They are tack drivers and the trigger and action and barrel are super!

The 770 is junk do not buy them. I can build a better gun with lego's :chuckle: the 700 is a lot more solid and a much better gun.

Bighammer,
Can we see some of your builds from the Rem700?  Also if you don't mind me asking, how much are you into a complete custom build?

Thanks

Here you go, they also do the bottom metal for the 700 long action. You use the AICS mags and you don't get hosed for close to $400 bucks for the Badger Ordnance set up. PTG sure threw a wrench in the works for the guys who were charging way too much for bottom metal that take the AICS mags.

They will be back in stock soon, you can purchase them else where also.

So Big, that ADL action is a good one eh? Is it virtually the same as the BDL action? I never thought about the buying an ADL to strip for the action, for some reason, always thought it needed to be the BDL.... :dunno: Obviously it will work, sa I can tell you dont skimp on such things!

Here's another question... you get $300 into the action. For another 4 or 5 hun, you can get a custom action... is there not that much diff? Do you have to have this action blueprinted and milled to get it "ready for custom"??? Or is it ok out the box?

wyatts box magazine is about $279.00 . you have to be carfull if its a short action depending on the bullets your gonna shoot . I got a new 700 action and it was $400 . I figured that It would be a hasselle to get rid of the other stuff and didn't wanna waste them. $369.00 is a smoking deal . How much into a custum build ? with good optics you will easyilly be in it 5K

The ADL actions are the same as the BDL actions, so no worries there.

Here is a 300 yard group from a FACTORY Rem700 ADL in .270 Wincheter purchased from the local Bi-Mart. Nothing was done to this rifle other than sanding the pressure point out of the forearm in the stock.

Most often than not, very few rifles won't shoot. It's generally a matter of the component combo it is being fed or a driver/pilot issue.

Yes! I am a Redbull junkie and I accept that.

Nice I think Ive just had bad luck with them. I shot an older .243 700 and did about that with it, and a police model 308 put 3 in one hole too. But the dang sps's Ive shot where 1.5" or more :dunno:

I've stopped buying guns for the most part (only got 4 new ones in the last month  :chuckle: :bash:). I like to be able to keep a few hundred rounds of ammo on hand for each caliber I have and thats the part that gets spendy when you have some many.

Big H... I bet you are right on the driver issues. Some of you shoot a lot more than me, but I've got buddies that can way outshoot my ass with the same gun.... and other buddies that I can way outshoot with the same gun... Having a tack driving rifle does not make you a tack driver!!!! :chuckle:
Good to know on that action... I had it all wrong... I've passed up great deals on used ADL's because I thought they were cheap POSs when I am a big 700 Fan! Doh!! :bash:

Hey Carp, they still got a couple left, I only bought 1 in .243.  And man this is a  lot nicer rifle than the Savage Axis thats for sure.  I might buy a stevens 22-250 next though, only 299.00

No its time to plan the build  :)

So, question, my new rifle came with a tag attached to the trigger that says, "Now Featuring the New X-Mark Pro Trigger"  does this mean that it is suppose to have this trigger group?  Because it sure doesn't have it.
