My hunting partner and I went up to check his camera yesterday after work, only to find that I forgot to turn it back on after previously checking it. :bash: You can only imagine the string of obscenities that came out of me, at a whisper of course. Oh well, we did see a small 6 point right in front of the camera.

You haven't been into trailcams much if you haven't done this at LEAST once. My best set up went four weeks in "view" mode because I forgot to switch the camera back to "photo" mode. I have homebrew cams so it got in a hurry and forget switch it back.
Then there's the time I left the dead batteries in my camera for a couple weeks on some hot rubs. Swapped out the Memorystick but forgot to replace the batteries. Nicely done, dumb ass. :bash:
And the time I hiked into a nasty hole without my keys. Couldn't check it. Stood there cussing at a box on a tree. Good times!
Or the time I forgot to pack new batteries in and was forced to just pull the camera. Now I have my "trailcam" pack with all the stuff I need already loaded up and ready to go. Keys for the locks, batteries, memory...everything.
Learn from my mistakes.

Some cameras are Idiot proof. And NO I am not calling you an Idiot. :chuckle: If you go into the Camera menu and forget to arm it. It will arm itself!!! As long as the Camera is turned on. Just one of the nice feature's on the more exspensive Camera's.

When I set mine up, I always turn them on, walk a good distance away from the camera, wait until the minute delay runs out, then walk towards the camera to make sure it's working. If you do that every time, I don't see how you could forget to turn it on! :)
