I've seen some good looking finishes but does anyone have any stories of durability?

All finished wear depending on use, especially carry handguns. My Clark Custom 1911 is finished in Cerakote and it shows wear with minimal carry.

The durability of cerakote is all in the prep. If the media used is not sharp, the finish can't bite. If the media is too coarse, it causes high spots that wear through early. Sharp corners on guns are always a tough one.

I'm definitely getting stainless for my next carry handgun. My glock looks horrible
