Went to buy one this morning and was told they are not being made anymore? Any truth to this? If so I need to find one in stock somewhere I guess.

I just looked on Remington sight and they still show them.

Yeah, I was on there the other day and saw it as "Current" on the Sendero and a few others.

Probably just certain models, but I haven't heard of them discontinuing the cartridge. Did you ask for a model in particular?
-
I think they are still made but it's a hard cartridge to find and expensive. My 338 RUM is the same. $90 a box and almost all off the Internet anymore. I hand load them. I'm wanting to trade my Remington 700 stainless ADL for another stainless rifle in just .338 Win Mag or .375HH. Both much easier to find ammo.

.......or you can reload top of the line components for less than $20 a box. ;)

Bi Mart had a 700 ADL in 300 RUM when I bought my .243 last week. :dunno:
-
It cost me about $100 for 50 rounds of 338 rum with Reloader 19, Fed 9.5 Primers, and Barnes xxx 250gr bullets and brass. Brass only last one reload MAYBE two.

If your brass is only lasting once, or twice if you're lucky, I'd say you're loading them too hot. :twocents:

:yeah: i shoot a 300 rum and have brass that has been shot 3 times and still hasnt lengthened to outside trim specs. seems like it will last very long.

I agree u should be getting more than 1 rd for the brass.
I have several 7mm RUM online for sale
-
I know several professional shooters that are getting 20+ reloads out of the same brass in the RUM's. Nosler and Norma brass.
-
I have a similar problem. Bought a Rem. 300 SAUM when they first came out. Too similar to the 300 WSM, and Rem dropped the cartridge. I still have several boxes of shells, but will need to buy some reloading dies soon, or pay 80 buck a box from custom reloader like Conely; http://www.cpcartridge.com/cpcart/

Had, if it was the E.Wenatchee Bi-Mart. I picked up the .300 Ultra and the .300 Win Mag.
