Title: Stevens County Republican platform addresses wolves:
Post by: bearpaw on March 24, 2012, 11:31:17 PM
I just came from the Stevens County caucus where I proposed language to the county platform that was adopted nearly unanimously with only two votes against.

The Stevens County Republican platform now addresses wolves:

"We are opposed to the Washington Wolf Plan. Washington should have no wolves and wolves should not be listed as a state endangered species."

one more step in the right direction....

Any precint delegate attending a county caucus can introduce the same language and ask the body to adopt that into the county platform. A simple vote will be taken after you present your reasoning and the delegates have had a chance to express opposition or support for the language. I'm not sure how the state caucus is conducted and I did not volunteer for that, but I assume a delegate who is going to the state caucus could also ask for that language in the state platform.

"We are opposed to the Washington Wolf Plan. Washington should have no wolves and wolves should not be listed as a state endangered species."

They are Federally protected as well as State protected? I must have missed something. When did the State do that?

I think it was a way of protecting them even if the national position on them changed  :dunno:

Not sure when, it's been that way for some time though.

Even though the feds have delisted the eastern 1/3 of Washington, the state still has them listed statewide.  :bash:
