I am really trying to make sure I dont buy a POS... and I was sold on just spending more money and getting a STAG...as I am confident in them... then I come across this...
This "complete kit" from Model 1 has the same barrel as the stag, same "looks" in general. I am thinking the trigger is probably not the same or as good, but that is a simple $100 upgrade or so... $150 max.

So, I can buy that for $560... add a $120 lower... at $680. Can throw on the $150 trigger and be at $830...
What else could there be about this gun that is gonna suck???? Nuther hunnert or so and I can be in the Stag which I am 100% confident in....

Sounds like you already know which one you want Ernie go with the Stag or you won;t be satisfied cause you will always wonder.

happy is good.for what lil difference there would be in price...Go for the stag

You will be very happy with any Model 1 kit. You can even upgrade the trigger in the kit. Although if you are mechanically inclined it is very simple to turn a mil trigger into a BR trigger at home with simple tools. :twocents: There isn't anything special about a Stag. Save your money to buy ammo. :)

You are way overthinking it. Get a ruger #1 and quit worrying about all the moving parts. :chuckle:

Looks like it would work. I have a similar looking set up in the DPMS Sweat 16. Good shooting gun.
-
I would get the kit and upgrade the trigger to a Rock River NM.

It is the one I have been looking at for awhile now.... just need cash.... :bash: :bash: :bash:

In my opinion, a rifle that guarantees a 1/2 moa out the box is special... but maybe in this AR world that isn't true??? One point of interest... the barrel on this Model 1 kit is the same as the Stag barrel... ER Shaw...
I could get this setup... and be shooting instead of talking about AR's... for as little as $700 after I buy a mag or two... then upgrade triggers or rework the trigger or whatever...
Thanks for the input all... I still have to get my ducks in a row to get the $$ figured out!
NOT GETTING A RUGER #1 :chuckle: :bdid:

Bottom line, when it comes to AR's. It's all about the barrel.

Hornseeker,
Did you drop the hammer on this one or go with something else?
