Title: Snowy Mallard (Willow Creek Taxidermy)
Post by: WCTaxidermy on April 12, 2012, 09:47:00 PM: I thought I would share a picture with everyone of a "Snowy Mallard" I just got mounted up. I have only had 3 of these come through my shop over the years. The tops of the Primary wing feathers and middle covert feathers have a lot more white pigmentation to them as a regular plumed out mallard. Some are a lot more white than this one. This particular bird was really shot up bad but since you don't see them very often I had to go for it. I posted a regular plumed mallard I just did as well for comparison. Post by: seth30 on April 12, 2012, 11:05:15 PM: Not trying to thread jack, but since were on the topic of odd mallards... I shot one this last season taht has almost a pure blue tint on the head. Is that a rare thing as well?
