I had a chance to snap a finished and factory action pic today. They sure are crude to start with.....and sadly nobody will get to see the important parts of these rifles.....so I thought I would share.

Tell us some more man... the factory is on the right... its "dirty" with what? SOme sort of lok tite or something? What did yhou DO to it to make it better??

Well, remington finishes the action with a belt sander....and it is never square.....as seen after a skim pass.

So I then finish cleaning up the face and bore it then re cut the threads....

I start this whole rodeo by dialing in on a manson raceway reamer.

Here is the surface lug after I surface ground it.....and a stocker.

Just another afternoon in the shop....

I just did a ruger cerakote on a wood stock.....turned it into a very nice piece. I strongly suggest graphite black with a very matter finish against wood....looks very "cooperish".

Was there enough material removed to not use standard threaded barrels or will you cut the threads and thread length for the barrel when it gets to you? did you do anything to the lugs/bolt face? Be cool to see when it gets all put together and barks.
-
Thanks for sharing...look forward to the rest.

These are both opened up. I will post some pics of the bolts tomorrow, they are all trued up also. One will be a 260ai and the other a 223ai. I am taking a gamble on a new barrel supplier.....wish me luck....lol.

Here is a squared bolt next to a virgin. I just take enough to square all the surfaces.
