Everytime lately I've tried to post pictures my computer goes all the way through the download and post part, but then just goes to a blank page, and my posts dont show up? I used to have no problem, and havent changed anything I do?
-
what are the size of the pic files? If they are too large, it might just time out.
-
I have had the same problem. I'll try a smaller size.
-
Strange. Some photo's the same size won't load. :dunno:
-
I have the same problem! some days it will work and others it goes to a white screen and doesnt post anything :bash:
-
I have no idea the pic size. Can someone explain how to change the size, then I'll try that. I got a good gobbler this morning, and some shed pictures from earlier in the year, that I'd love to share.
-
I post all of my pics using http://photobucket.com/ and have zero problems, pics always come out perfect.
-
Yep, too large of a photo. Technically, even though it is less than 2 Mb in size, the pixel size is still too big. I used to be able to post any pic under 2 MB but now I have to make sure it is also under 800X600 pixels.
TRY THIS -- This is very easy to do, just highlight your photo in your picture browser, right click and click on Open With, left click Paint, left click resize, it will give you a memory size option but it is easier to click on the pixel option, type in 800 and the other will automatically (usually) go to 600, then Save As.....
-
:yeah: Right click over file.
Open with "paint"
Click on "image" tab
Select resize/skew
resize both the vertical and horizontal to 50%
should take care of it.
-
Thanks guys... that worked.

I dont know I am in the same boat i have spent hourss trying to get photos to post and just cannot get it done. Either from my computer or photobucket.
i dont know why it had to change but after this site crashed the photo posting option went to hell. I posted before than with same camera no problem. Now it takes a friggin act of god.
Is there not a easier system you can set up. There is someone posting every week about not being able to post pics. So I am not the only one. Some of you guys are computer wizzes but that is not alot of us. This photo posting feature needs to be fixed. Because it is too difficult to use.
We never had to resize before, If you need resizing set it up so it does it for us.
-
Ghost,
From my experience, I have always had to resize to fit the 2 MB restriction per picture. I did not used to have to worry about the dimensions. However, with Paint it is just as easy to change dimensions as file size, maybe easier since you don't have to guess what percentage to reduce it.
Did you try it as per above? I think it will work. One way I got around it for a bit was to post the text and then modify it by adding the picture. I also started having problems that way but with the 800X600 dimension modification, I have not had any problems.
Good luck.

I did some tweaking and it appears you can now post photos up to about 1.5 mb. As long as this doesn't cause a huge problem with memory consumption, we will try this setting.

I can;t post either when I hit post just a white screen appears. I tried reposting some pictures that I have posted before but the same thing happens. I can post pictures on facebook and the other hunting forum just not on ours and I could before so don;t know what. Some think the picture size is to large but if my pictures worked before that were the same size why not now.

Please email them to me and I will have a look.

The two mule deer photos were about 2000 pixels wide. The other two turkey photos were about 4000 pixels wide, if I make the forum accept that large of phtos it will fill up the hard drive 3 to 5 times faster and the forum will fail again.
A lot of the problem is that everyone keeps upgrading cameras to newer and higher megapixels photos, so we have to limit the photo size. I resized your photos down to no larger than 800 px wide and they post fine.
(I tried to post them at 3600 wide and then at 1600 wide and they would not post.)
-
You guys just need to learn how to resize pictures! It's not hard! Really!
If I can figure out how to do it, anyone can! :chuckle:

This is a continuing theme. I wonder how many just give up and never post pictures. I would guess a lot. Is there any way that the site can have a program that adjusts the pictures automatically as they come in?

facebook does that....
I actually think its the phone photos that are the worst my droid photos are ginormous and always need to be shrunk...so usually just send them to fb and it is done for me...

Don't most people have Microsoft Office Picture Manager? That's what I use, and it couldn't be easier.
Here's a video to watch, maybe it will help:

They say half the people are getting online with phones now and soon it will be 75%, I know that I have issues trying to do most tasks with my phone and do not know how to resize photos with it so I assume others may be as limited as I am on a phone, so I will see if I can find some mod to resize photos automatically.

Maybe that's why I can't fathom the difficulty some have in resizing pictures- I've never tried surfing the internet with a phone. I would imagine it could be problematic.
