We started out in a field with turkeys all over in the trees gobbling their heads off. Daylight came and they all flew out into the timber and walked away. We walked the timber but never could catch up to them. Went back to the truck and were debating on leaving, but decided to go walk another section of timber. My partner left his shotgun at the truck and off we went. As we got to the top of a e I let out a few hen clucks. Immediately we get an answer about 200 yds away. We walk the ridge to the top and I continue calling. Suddenly he gobbles about 100 yds away. We kneel down and I cut lose with some purrs and putts and he comes running up the hill in full strut. When he hits 40 yds I sit up just slightly and he immediately sees me and stands straight up. BOOM! And he rolls all the way to the bottom. Then we notice the second gobbler running for the hills. He has to be about 20 lbs and has a double beard that is about 10" and 6". Talk about a happy camper. :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: I can't post pics from my iPad but will once I get home on Thursday.
