Anyone use an automatic water system in their kennels? I am considering getting one and wanted to get some reviews before I pull the trigger on one. I currently just have a big stainless dish, but my new pup seems to enjoy tipping it over and I am getting tired of re-filling it 3 times a day. Any place to get a good stainless water bowl that you can clip to a chain link kennel fence would also be considered (I looked at these on the internet but they seemed a little over-priced).
Thanks for the help,

I've used one like this for years for my two dogs.

You can locate it anywhere and you don't have to refill it every day like a bowl. I only fill mine about once a week. I have heard that some dogs may shy from the "girgling" noise but both of mine ignore it and drink up just fine. Downside may be that the full water bottle can get heavy and a PITA if you have back or shoulder problems.
I would not trust any automatic watering system that is connected to a hose. Ones that would be reliable would be expensive and a cheap one may be prone to break or leak at the worst possible time and cause a lot of damage.

I just use galvanized buckets with two sided snaps. My female(supposedly the older and smarter one) likes to play in her water at 5 years old still. I use a few extra clips on hers. She's chewed a bucket in half before and flattened a few others. Chessies???

I like that idea. I wonder if they make one with a stainless bowl (I forgot to mention that the pup is also a chewer).

No, not a chessie a cocker. Here an action shot of the little devil. P.S. the Orange/yellow/lemon one in the back ground is also a trouble maker :chuckle:

for the price of a stainless bucket you can buy about 20 galvanized buckets the same size.

Here is a link to a 2qt. flat sided pail. Works great.

I will be installing A system similar to this: http://www.revivalanimal.com/Lixit-Water-Nipples.html in all my kennels. Our year round creek will take care of the dogs not in the kennel.
