This last weekend i went turkey hunting up north. i have wanted to stick a turkey with a bow for awhile now. the first day i saw some birds in the morning and called a hen in to 6 yards of the blind :IBCOOL: it was pretty cool. then when we went back to camp we heard some gobbles above camp. so we took off, i wanted to bring my bow but we didn't have time to set up a blind so i just took the gun, we walked up above the birds and set up next to a tree. the first time my friend called they were a ways off, but the second time it seemed like the birds had cut the distance in half. after a couple minutes he was right on top of us. the last time he gobbled it was soo close that it made me jump. when he came out of the brush at 30 yards i dumped him. :IBCOOL: :mgun: it was sweet, there were 3 other toms with him, he came in super fast and aggressive. definitely the fastest turkey hunt i have ever been on in my life, and the weekend only gets better. the next day i brought my bow, with my mind set on shooting one with it. early in the morning we could hear toms gobbling all over but they were in the distance. right off the bat a hen walked next to the decoy at 10 yards. later we could hear a tom in a meadow just below us with a bunch of hens. i thought the chances of pulling him from his hens wasn't likely but my friend coaxed him up the hill. he came in to 12 yards at a full strut and stopped when my friend gave him a "putt". i let fly :archery_smiley: :archery_smiley: :whoo: and hit him right in the heart, a am pretty excited about this season since i shot a cow and a tom with my bow and i am only 15. it was so awesome! i was shaking 20 minutes afterwards. nothing like the adrenaline rush of a tom at full strut at 12 yards or a bull bugling in your face. i had a great time. not only during the shots but also the good times spent in the blind trying not to get too bored. another addition to all of the great times in the outdoors. :)

That's quite a feat. To harvest one bird with a bow is hard enough, but two in one weekend....great job and congrats on a couple of nice birds.
-
Awesome job! Two with a bow, same day going to be hard to top that one.
-
:yeah: Nice ... student now teacher !!!!

Great job! Turkeys are doable with a bow and without a blind too, just makes it more challenging.
-
The first Turkey was with his shotgun and the second was with his bow. The teacher got his Big Tom with a bow first.
-
Great job, congratulations. That is AWESOME!
