Title: Looking for a good pack that carries a bow
Post by: zackmioli on May 06, 2012, 11:21:50 PM: Hey all I am looking to buy a new pack before this upcoming archery season and want something that is set up to strap my bow into for hiking in in the morning and out at night. Other pack needs is big enough to carry enough supplies for a day or two and possibly haul out some meat with that first trip. Any suggestions?

Post by: Sliverslinger on May 07, 2012, 01:13:42 PM: I'm a huge fan of Eberlestock. Especially the X2. Mine is comfortable as can be even with weight. You can attach a butt-bucket and ripcord to it and carry your bow on your back but get to it very quickly.

Just sent them an email about their Compact Frame Combo pack. Just wanting to compare prices. That one seems to fit my needs really well. Thanks for the heads up! I named dropped Split Diamond in my email as well! :tup:

I have a Dwight Schuh pack now, which is versatile, but the external frame rubs the shoulders when carrying lots of weight(meat). Does the Wilderness pack come with a spot for a hydration bladder?

Post by: zackmioli on June 06, 2012, 10:35:50 PM: Yes it comes with a pocket for a hydration bladder. I took it up for a scouting trip last saturday for the first time and overpacked it to see how it felt with around 30lbs and it was great. already loving this pack. :tup:

Having a great fitting strong pack really makes a ton of difference! I have pulled out of a lot of my big plans for this year trying to save some frog skins. I am sure I will still be able to pack atleast 8-12 more animals with mine this year.

Just came across this thread. This was the exact pack I was going to recommend for your wife. Good choice.
