Got ya. Since you're here, any predictions on when they'll be available...? I'm quite sure results were out last year June 8th. What's your thoughts this year. Before or after last?
-
I really didn't even want to look at this :bash:. You couldn't even wait for the weekend to be over. I'm saying about the 14th
-
You're a good sport. I know it's super early to think about results but when it doesn't leave your mind it feels a little better to talk about it. I have 5 guys that all applied seperately and for me it builds similiar anticipation to find out their results. I go into the drawing believing that I won't draw anything but hoping someone else in my party will so when the real results come out it's not as big of a letdown. Of course it still is. When I find out the results are up and I'm opening wdfw page my heart starts to pound for everyone to hear. Gotta love the draw and the anticipation...it's especially sweet if you land in the butter.
-
I'll check every day till they come out like always. :bash:
-
Good lord, a back door fake out thread already? haha
-
Back door results were up last year in the early afternoon of June 14th. The official results were posted just a few hours later.
-
Always seem to be close to the middle of June
-
It says right in the book on page 85 #8. that it will be out by the end of June. So my guess is the 20th
-
How did you all survive when they took another month to do the draw?
-
the fact that Washington waits til June is just mind numbing to me . I know a few guys that have to put in for Vacation by june 1st. It's the technology age for peets sake ! Oh well my venting is done and I'll start peeking around the 10th in hopes.
-
If my memory serves me correct, the back door is just applying for your permits again right? Or go to check permits draws?
-
I'm more interested in Utah and Montana than I am here. Here I essentially grabbed 5 hundred dollar bills and burned them.
-
and....it begins!

:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :yeah:

The official results will be out "end of June", backdoor should be up a little earlier. Mid June is usually about right.
The one that really drives me nuts is Montana Antelope. Almost August before they let those out.... :bash: :bash:
-
Idaho is late June

:yeah: I have to have mine in by May 15th, so I just put in for all the weeks I want to cover my seasons dates to lock them in. Then after the results come out and I'm not selected I switch a week to summer so I can vacation with the family, but then I have to choose a week nobody else has during the summer. It's a little game I have to play.

We pick our vacation in November of the previous year, so have to do some juggling if I draw a good tag

You guys just need to get different employers it sounds like. Don't you remember when the results came on a postcard delivered to your mailbox sometime in August?
-

Isnt it the worst feeling in the world! I dont mind spending the money in Idaho or Montana but here in makes me sick to my guts :twocents:

And I could not agree more.......
-
Wow. Seriously? It makes you guys feel sick to apply for special hunts in this state?
I'm sure you know the solution to that problem, right? Don't apply! :dunno:
-
Don't matter what we think, because we think alike on this issue Bobcat, there will always be people who whine.

At my job they do the vacation schedule in December and i have to put down all my vacation for the entire next year. But once it is final i can go back and change weeks if it is available or swap with guys that are willing. Still sucks putting down weeks of vacation for a tag that i will probably wont draw, just to change it to a time when i can hunt.

My work likes 30 days notice but will let us take time off with less if were not slammed with work. :dunno:

Okay, I know I don't post that often... But I see this EVERY year. What the hell is Back door Results? I know it has to do with the draws but huh?

There isn't a real back door to get the results, all it is- you go to the wdfw web page and just act like your putting in for your permits. Enter your info and your hunt choices will show up, either say drawn not run yet or not selected or selected. It doesn't tell you what you drew if you did draw, just what the results are before they are official.

Ohh I'll continue putting in, that is until I finally draw my quality hunts that i've been putting in for the last 15+ years. Then no more
-
I will always put in for the draw. The fact that a lot of guys will stop doing, it just increases my odds.

:yeah: give us a better chance at drawing :chuckle:

Amen! Im perfectly fine with everyone not applying and paying to go out of state.
-
Amen! I'm perfectly fine with applying, expecting not to get drawn and going out of state hunting every year. :chuckle:
-
Thanks Trophy!!!!!
Yet another tidbit learned from Hunt-Wa.... :IBCOOL:
-
I don't like the wait for results either. I agree that in today's technological society, the result could be out within a week.
As for it impacting vacation, I'm pretty lucky. I hunt with my manager. When I started reporting to him a couple of years ago and we got to talking hunting, he told me, "I don't care if it involves jumping out of a tree onto the animal's back with a knife in my mouth; I'm in!" Getting time off to hunt is NO problem!!!

That was the last time I drew a bull tag!!!! :chuckle: I remember sitting on the front steps or standing in the driveway looking for the mail lady.... Everytime my dog barked I ran to the window to see if it was her!!! Then it finally came.... My Dad opened his first... Then I....... Man it was like Christmas..... :chuckle:

Dad was a little disappointed to say the least.... :chuckle: But still happy for me.... He might have been a little happier.... Work wouldn't let him take 2 1/2 weeks off for this hunt and some deer.... He went anyways.... :chuckle:

Hell yeah, I remember. I remember waiting 12 years in a row for my Manastash cow tag to come in the mail and it never did, in those same 12 years my dad got drawn for 2 Manastash cow tags and a Taneum cow tag. :dunno:
-
I remember the post cards. I remember not keeping them filed away when I should have. I remember the change to the WILD ID system and my points being lost. I remember the nice lady at WDFW saying " no problem sir, just bring us your last post card with your points on it and we'll put them back in the system". I can remember tearing my house up looking for that darn post card. Kiss them points goodby :ACRY:
Now I keep a file of all my points for all the states I apply in.
My buddy got screwed also. His and his Dad's names are the same so when they created the new system his info was all messed up. They had to create him an entire new ID in the system and assign him a new WILD ID and all. :bash:
-
When were permits due? Did I miss the deadline?
-
Um dude, I don't know how to tell you this but here goes, if you didn't put in yet, you have a while to wait for "next time"
-

Bahahahahahaha good god man. That was my laugh for the day!
-
8) Sarcasm is just another free service I offer.
-
Lol! I was just kidding. I wouldn't want to miss the deadline and cheat the state out of some extra money.
-
Guess what! I just checked and they have not did the draw yet..LOL

Have you guys noticed that when you check drawing results they don't show the number of points you have for the drawing? I'm pretty sure that in the years past they did show how many points you went in the draw with. Not a big deal, it's just wierd to me. Anyone else notice a difference from years past?

Heres a quick link when the results come out.
