I finally got a chance to do some shedding in my old stomping grounds (Maine/New Hampshire). I managed to work in a few days of looking while packing up to move to California. Most every day was rain, but that wasn't stopping me... Enjoy the pics.

Very Nice! looks like a fun time!

Couple more, and the stringer shot. Not a lot of fresh ones, but still not bad for a few days of hiking.

Nice work.
I have to say that for a fake hummer it still gets around a heck of a lot better than my truck (the reason I took it that particular day). The ruts to get to the shedding grounds were a little deep for my Silverado... plus it had a 3,000 mile trip coming up. :chuckle:
Here's the "real" one for ya. ;)
These were found by my brother last year.

We are planning on at least 4 days in Acadia. Never been anywhere in Maine so we will probably spend a couple days exploring. Any suggestions?

Acadia National Park and Baxter State Park are a must. If you are in decent shape and like to hike then the hike to the summit of Mt. Katahdin is gorgeous. You will have to check in at the rangers station in the parking lot and there is some stuff that you are required to bring like matches, water, and a flashlight but it is not as big a deal as it sounds and the hike is worth it. As for stuff along the coast if you are going to be in southern Maine definitely hit Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, Maine. Fort Knox is kind of cool if you are into old forts and that kind of thing. If you want to see moose for sure then head up towards Baxter State Park and the Allagash regions. Along the coast there are lots of "lobster pounds", seasonal seafood joints specializing in lobster. Its way way cheaper to get lobster there and they often come off the boat that day. In fact one of our winter rituals is to go out and forage a mess of sea critters and steam/boil them up on the beach. Lobsters, clams, periwinkles (snails), mussels etc. If you are looking for driving adventures then the Golden Road up by Millinocket is a cool trip, lots to see. If you are a fisherman then I would recommend hitting up the small mouth bass fishing on the Penobscot River(Non-resident licenses range from 11 dollars for one day to $47 for 15 days). Moosehead lake is a pretty area. Somewhat touristy but nowhere near as bad as the coast. I'll stop typing now before you get eye strain. If you want to know more just say so. I'm from about halfway between Old Town and Lincoln. Pretty central and has some of the best smallmouth bass fishing I've ever seen.

Cool man thanks for the info! Ive heard about the Kittery trading post we will definitely try and get there. I am gonna bring my fishing pole too so its good to know about the non resident prices which really arent bad at all. I really want to hike mt. katahdin but we probably wont make it there on this trip. We did 8 or so miles on the Appalaichain trail in Western Mass just north of I-90 earlier this spring
