I drew a second deer permit for Northriver.
Can I fill the northriver doe tag before my buck tag?
The area I hunt deer in I dont see any bucks until later in the season so I'd like to hunt for a doe in Northriver first.

It doesn't matter the order, as long as its during the prescribed hunting season.

thank, thats what I thought but wasnt totaly sure.

I think the tag for your second deer is about sixty bucks. Buy that first?

The second deer tag can only be used during the prescribed second deer season. You cannot use your primary deer tag for the second deer season unless the seasons and other restrictions happen to overlap.
"You must purchase a second deer tag to participate in this hunt and only the second tag can be used in the second deer permit hunt. The second tag must be the same weapon choice as your first tag. You may hunt only with the hunting method in compliance with your tag."
The second deer tag will cost $68.
Good luck on your hunts.

You will get a card in the mail that shows you were selected for the second deer. Keep that card with you on your hunts along with the new license. :twocents: It could save you some hunting time if a gamie checks you out. For some reason it is much easier for them if you have all your info with you.

A lot of hunters don't realize that they are required to have the permit with them. It's not optional: it must be with you to legally hunt the second season.
