Who drew the late Blue Mountains units quality buck permits this year?
I see a couple of the permit holders at least are members on here.
I struck out this year.
-
I believe those are just buck permits aren't they
-
No, there's buck tags and then there's the late rifle quality tags. At first in 2010, most of them were just mule deer permits, now they've added whitetails to them and made a lot of them 3 pt. minimum whitetail or muley.
See my avatar pic. I drew Tucannon the 1st year they offered it in 2010.
-
I see had the buck tag last year but never used it as I shot a nice muley opening day of general season. Heck of a nice buck u got there
-
Can you repost the picture of your buck jackelope? I can't click on it to make it bigger. It appears to have a mondo sized body, assuming you are not a small guy

Shantytrey
post a pic of your buck from last year....It had to be a nice deer to shoot opening day and waste that tag. I am not being sarcastic just curious. Thanks
-
I got the foothills west for late whitetail. Struck out on quality too though
-
Shantytrey-thank you...it was a fun hunt.
Sirmissalot...I will post up a pic later. Can"t do it from my phone.

Here's a pic of my buck from 2010.
Hope to hear from any of the Blues tag holders.
I always look forward to see what these permits will drum up every year.
-
That is a mighty fine buck indeed. Congrats!
-
Thank you.

I'll see if I can find that whitetail pic I have from a foothills whitie in the rut...STILL on the hoof unless the wolves got it.

Ya know, pathfinder I saw that picture before and just from looking at how the antlers were and the background I was almost positive that was a late blues whitetail. Glad to finally know for sure. My dad got a 6x4 four years ago. We both got it this year. I'm so jacked up for november!!!!!
-
LOVE the photos pathfinder.
-
Wasnt the gov tag or raffle tag muley shot in tucannon last year?
-
That's a nice buck Jackelope! And a nice buck for the kid too!

Thats what I heard, what a great buck for pathfinder jr

I drew the Blue Mountains West late rifle permit this year. I'm not familiar with the area so I would love any info in regards to where I should focus my efforts and help with landowner access.
Beautiful Muley by the way.
-
I'd just say make a trip there and swoop up all the permission you can. :twocents:
-
Jack, that's a nice buck! Path, the best pic is the last one with your son looking all happy and laughing, congrats.
-
I think the kid is overjoyed in that shot.

I have hunted the Blues for many many years and takin several bucks. But it has always been in Sept archery hunting. I have hunted in the late hunt Nov. but never EVER have I seen that good of bucks. Infact if I seen a legal buck it was a whitetail and not big at all. See 100s of does and a few 2 points but thats it. I mainly hunted the Toucannon and Murango areas.
