Moose is about four times larger.

All the poop you find in the NE is moose. There are no elk there.

reminds me of one Turkey season, I was in an area that had a lot of (what looked to me as Elk droppings, until there were some larger than golf balls !!
found out later, the "elk" droppings were calf moose, and the larger ones were mom.

Moose poop...in Teanaway.[/img][/img]

Pretty hard to mistake them for elk, unless the Irish Elk have returned....
-
This is my easy rule of thumb for people to identify whether droppings are elk or moose:
If it looks like the biggest elk droppings you have ever seen, then it's probably moose.
-
Elk poop also tastes fresher.
-
I beg to differ i think moose droppings have one of those tastes that reminds you of moms home cookings where as elk are an aquired taste.

I've actually ate a moose poo with a bet this girl would partake . Yes it was obvious I was the butt of the joke and unfortunately I didn't impress her. It shouldn't be hard to identify. If you have doubts it's probably elk....and no, I haven't eatin' any since.

Moose is more egg shaped. Easy to tell apart from an elk turd
