Let us know how it shoots and functions! If you don't mind me asking. What was the shop asking for the 5" Scorpion? When I purchased mine in Central WA, I was over on the coast a little later and  Keselrings (Spelling?) wanted 200.00 more than what I paid for mine.

A buddy of mine has the Taurus 1911 and he loves it. It shoots just as well as my Kimber and cost a couple hundred less. He's never had any malfunctions and he's probably put 8-900 rounds through it. You'll be very happy.

I was just at Wholesale Sports in Lacy and they had a Sig Scorpion for about $990. Great looking gun, but it felt heavy even for a full size 1911. If I were in the market for another 45, I'd give it a good look.

Biggerhammer, the scorpion was between 950 and 1100.  i looked at A LOT of guns  :yike: and don't remember exactly.   :chuckle:  beautiful pistol, and the grips/mainspring housing is ultra cool, but i couldn't see dropping 400+ extra for that.  all i need is the gun to go bang with a big hole!

Are the factory markings on the slide? Printed or engraved? Im wondering if they could be removed with a simple bead blast or Alum Ox for a custom coating.

markings are all etched.  no worries though.  the coating is neat, but not necessary.

Woodchuck, thankfully she doesn't talk to him often, and he'd be likely to forget to rat me out before the next time we see him!   :chuckle:
