Idaho legal bullet for 50 cal Knight Disc Extreme
« on: June 29, 2012, 09:39:06 PM »
I found out today I drew an ID muzzy Antelope tag for 63-2A. Anybody have any suggestions on a  bullet that is legal for ID? I have a 50 cal Knight Disc Extreme I just got & want to get a bullet that will fit this gun & not be too difficult to load. Thanks for any suggestions.  :)

For antelope those PR's might be the best thing you can get...

Here's what I ordered:
ULTIMATE 1 SPITZER HP
sku 0089
Category   Ultimate 1 Spitzer HP
Price / DOZEN   $ 13.95
Caliber (gun)   .50
Weight (grains)   390
Name   Colorado Legal
Description: Ultimate 1 Spitzer is true Spitzer. They are suitable for any sized game animals at extended ranges. Designed for 1-48" twist barrels and faster, these bullets may be the best big game bullet available to the shooter looking for one bullet to do it all. Increased down range energy but more restricted shot selection. This bullet is at it's best with the classic broadside shots. Structure should be avoided.

Thanks you two for your help & sharing of knowledge.  I've got a couple of chances this year to test out this new gear. Wish you well on your hunts.

What Cecil is telling you here is do not hit bones, well big bones.  I am surprised that he put that in the description.

I noticed that also. Pretty much w/ these old eyes & open sights broadside shots are it for me. I upgraded my sights to the Williams ones you suggested in earlier posts for my Knight Disc Extreme so that should help w/ aiming. Thanks

Well when the time comes and you have the shot - do not spend a lot of time worring about hitting a bone... 390 grains of lead even though a sprire point will work just fine for you - I am pretty confdent of that.  Especially for an antelope...
