That is funny!  Reminds me of a bass tournament that I fished years ago on Lake Don Pedro in Ca.  We fished all day for very few fish.  I think that the winning weight was 12 lbs for 5 fish, pretty sad.  As the boats were coming in for weigh-in we hear some 8 year old kid screaming.  A bunch of us run over to see if he is ok.  It turns out that he had a 7 lb bass on his snoopy pole, wrapped around a tree and it was freaking him out.  He could not get it in.  We helped him by wading out and grabbing it.  We took him up and weighed it for him.  Since his fish outweighed the biggest bass in the tournament by 3 pounds, we gave him the cash ( about $100) and trophy.  You couldn't wipe the smile off of his face if you tried.

Thats awesome! Last year we threw out a little yellow rod about 4' long during the hatchery steelhead run up on the Bogeshiel. It was fun fighting  steelhead on such a little rod. I also have a 3 and a half foot G Loomis rigged with four pound test that I use for a perch rod up on Lake Washington.
