Late Archery
« on: November 21, 2012, 07:18:19 PM »
Well day one of late archery here on the Islands. It was wet and cold. Rained all day. Saw one deer. 50 yards out and right as I drew on it the a hiker's dog came barking and ran him off. Extremely frustrating.

Oh we'll. hopefully tomorrow morning goes better. Hope you all had better luck than I did.

Good luck.  Haven't seen much moving around the last couple of days.

Seen lots of deer over the crabbing season.
The thing about island deer is that my Black Lab is usually bigger.
Looks funny to see a big rack on a dog sized animal.

I know the islands are crowded, but any domestic dog that is harassing wildlife on private property should be shot. I have eliminated many because of just what happened to you. That is my opinion and I realize it isn't shared by all. :twocents:
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

I agree. In fact I turned my sights on the dog, but then saw the dogs owner and didn't want to deal with that.

And as far as small I agree but that's where I was fur thanksgiving so trying to work with what I got. If you can recommend somewhere better for me for this Saturday I will take tips gladly!

any gate on the right side of bear creek dewatto road off old belfair highway in mason county. the further out on bear creek dewatto you go to find a gate the better. less people.
The only person who has failed is the one who never tried.
