Big blacktail
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:04:42 PM »
This morning me and a buddy were hunting a new clear cut that we found and we were sitting on the edge of the timber line and a big switchback 3 point was staring at us then he bolted and disappeared like a ghost...will he come back or is he gone for good?

Worth a try... He will go where the does go.... Could be close or miles away... I jumped a mature BT buck last year that I'd never seen before.... To glass him the next day @ 3 miles away in a cut as the crow flies... Never could get close enough for a muzzy shot...

I missed a nice buck on opening day of modern deer this year, the following weekend an identical buck was killed (not by me) about 400-500 yards from where I shot. 99% sure it was the same deer.

I say he's worth another try. Maybe come at him from a different angle/direction.
