I live VERY close to an entrance to the LT Murray.  One of these years, going to consider a coffee stand at my driveway entrance.  Could pay for a out of state tag that way, I don't know.  It is amazing the traffic.  We get more now than the entire rest of the year :o.
If you think you can or think you can't, you're right.

i'd stop in daily.

i hunted the modern season once.
once.
the traffic and shooting(bullet slinging) i saw several miles back in the wilderness on horseback was amazing to me. i haven't been back since.

Come on guys, there is no better way to experience the adventures of a true hunt without massive amounts of bullets flying over your head or seeing little orange dots everywhere you look.  On my special permit hunt last year I was AMAZED at how many guys were up there the FULL week before elk season opened "scouting" aka sitting around the fire drinking, plotting how to find one of those elusive spikes.  The modern firearm seasons are a joke in this state from what I have seen personally.

Missin MT...what entrance do you live next to?  You are probably really missing MT if you saw my buddies Montana bull.  Dang I wish I had his seasons and his animals.

Lets not get me started on the LT Murray and the hunters up there and there dis-respect for the entire area (not all of them) but the ones who trash the place and leave up indications of a camp build outhouses everywhere, little shacks etc....

saw parade of campers pulling trailers with quads heading north from Spokane today. did some last minute scouting of my own and headlights coming out of any road not posted and some that are. saw some last-minute whitetail hunters shoot a buck on private property and they ditched their orange as if that would make them invisible and acted "nervous" like they didn't have permission to be on that property. nice buck they hit, he looked sick but not hit hard enough to pursue right away, my impression was that if pushed he would just keep running.
Good luck in the morning to you folks heading out. be safe & have fun!
